You also would have likely "bet a big O" the football team would win 8 games this year. So there's that. As far as pre season rankings. You're the only guy I know who gets butt hurt by these. Baylor has the potential to be very good if this team of newcomers gels.
You ***** and moan about every pre season poll the Bears aren't picked 1st. Always been your MO. 4th is fair considering the returning talent. This teams ceiling is extremely high if they gel which I'm guessing they will by mid season. As far as betting, not betting you anything
There was zero name calling. It would be nice to make 1 post without you immediately arguing it as though you're offended by my opinion. I'll bet you $1k BU doesn't make a bowl game. There's your bet offer. Take it or leave it
I thought we'd be somewhere between 3rd and 5th with the coaches. Could easily make an argument for us to finish above UT for 3rd, but just as easily could make an argument that we're 1 behind TCU at #5. I think we have a shot to finish much higher, but based on the simple concept of returrning productions, etc. I can see why the Big 12 coaches placed us where they did.
The last few times we've been picked 1st, we flamed out, so he shouldn't worry worry. Fball and mbb were both picked to win the conference last year.
Now make no mistake, we have the highest upside in the conference and much higher talent than say Houston. But experience and age counts. Would think with an average coaching job this team probably finishes over Houston and Texas but have to prove it.
Think Tcu, Houston, and Texas will be battling for 3rd. Bu could falter but would be disappointed with anything below a second place finish. Really like the roster make up just need to see the offense in action
Zero doubt our upside is extremely high. The other thing to consider if schedules aren't created equal now with more league teams. Bu has the hardest ranked schedule in the B12 this year conference wise. That will play a role
True, it's a nasty schedule compared to the others.
Ku has an easy path. Houston's is significantly easier too. Wouldn't be surprised if we all know Bu is better but finishes "tied" or just below Tex and Hou in the standings.
I actually don't care where we finish in conference play in men's basketball TBH within reason. Obviously conference championships are great, but the only thing people care about is advancing in the NCAA tourney. We have the toughest non con and the toughest conference schedule, so if we have 6-7 losses, I won't mind as long as we are getting better at the end of the season.
