Drew knows Missi is not long for Waco and he also knows he is gonna needs some bigs with full bodies with Zona coming into the conference given their focus on big bodied international recruits.

We'll lose Missi and EJ and add a couple of JUCO bigs in Yanis NdJonga and Noah Boyed. It's nice to have a four-year developmental guy like Josh O because he should do nothing but improve over his final two seasons.

For those interested, here's a good highlight reel on Boyed. He looks a little stiff on a few of these clips, but he's pretty skilled. It's hard to tell based on competition level, but he looks like another rim-protecting big with some back-to-the-basket skill we haven't had in a while.

What does this mean for roster spots for 2024-2025? Still an open spot for Tre? Missi still needs one more year especially since he reclassified.

Not sure why it is a foregone conclusion that he would be gone unless he specifically stated as much. He shows a lot of potential but would need to have a Sochan-like trajectory to warrant leaving after one year for the NBA, otherwise he will instead follow the paths of Brown, Miller and such.

Because a) his skill set already translates well to the modern NBA whether he develops a low post game or not and b) NBA teams draft more on reward than risk because any flops can be drafted over in the next draft or three.

Scouts and NBA execs will drool over Missi's upside all year and one will take him in the lottery. The guy is already playing at an all-conference level in the opening weeks of the season as a 17- or 18-year-old freshman. He's not going to be here this time next year.

And yet at this stage he is nowhere near the lottery.

Not only will he be in the lottery, he will end up going ahead of Walter.

Wow, someone showing a lot of love for Yves. I hope he performs so well he ends up there. Here we come Final Four with two lottery picks in the lineup! Well, maybe if they can figure out how to play better defense.

I detect sarcasm, but I actually do think this team has final 4 potential. If all the pieces come together. A big "if" but the coaches have time to iron out the kinks. And I won't bet against CSD.

We entered tonight ranked 22nd nationally in defensive efficiency. We're going to be fine on that end.

Last year's team was ranked in the 60s or 70s at this time and only got worse the rest of the way. This team is nothing like that one.
