Thanks for posting, I really want to see if Purdue is going to be for real this year, they have looked light a legit too 5 team all year and then folded in the tourney two years in a row.
Marquette looked good last night, but UCLA also made some bone headed decisions to help their run. They have the talent and athletes to beat Kansas.

KU will go as far as Dickinson takes them. He gets hurt and it's light out for them.

Probably the most solid starting 5 in college basketball. No depth though. If they get in foul trouble, it's lights out. Of course, Kansas somehow manages to avoid foul trouble must games [surprise, surprise].

Unfortunately, this arena doesn't have the early season charm or overall feel of the Lahaina Civic Center. Hopefully it is able to return next year.

Zeigler's lateral movement and speed don't seem far off from what it was prior to the devastating knee injury last year. I hate when that happens to guys like Langston, Jon, him and others. Procedures have come a long way over the years but you just never know how much of your original mobility you're going to get back.

Both of these teams are legit but, like us, they also have some areas to work on. Neither is a completed project currently.

A fast, good shooting, athletic team will give Purdue fits unless the Boilermakers can figure out how to control the tempo. And, much like last year, Purdue is careless with the ball and doesn't really have a lot of scorers. Edey is obviously difficult to defend, but there are ways to take him out of the game.

I had heard hype from all my Tennessee friends the Vols were much better on offense this year. Only one half, but I'm not seeing it. I see the same solid D from the past, but still no real shooters.

Stan Sheriff is a near-replica of the Ferrell Center.

I mean its almost identical, inside and out. They've shown a couple of outside shots of the dome. Only difference is the Sheriff dome isn't gold and they have the whole mountain/sea backdrop thing.

Obviously early in the season with plenty of time to get better in some areas, but both these teams have marked weaknesses that make me wonder whether either could win 6 games against different styles of play that it requires to win it all.

Tenn will have the same issue in March they have every year under Barnes. They go through long scoring lulls. They also lack a bucket getter who can get his own whenever

I disagree a little with Bilas. I think KJ Adams is one of the keys to KU's season. Dickinson is gonna get his numbers. Dajuan will be a solid PG as always. McCullar is the proverbial junk guy who is gonna get his numbers. KJ is the one they need to be consistent night in, night out and he's always had a tendency to play superstar level one night and then completely disappear the next.

The other key is that they've gotta find someone who can come off the bench with a hot hand every night.

Marquette - UConn is gonna be a helluva battle for the Big East.

I watched UT v Purdue. Purdue did a great job of maintaining the lead when Eden went out with foul trouble.

In the last 2-3 mi utes there were maybe three possessions where Eddy just patrolled the paint and didn't guard anyone. Vols couldn't or would t exploit that. Maybe rhey lose anyways, but thought that was a critical mistake.

I kinda wish Baylor was in the Maui Invitational this year.

Kolek is as impressive of a PG as I've seen in years.

These two teams look like they're playing a different sport than most of the other early season games I"ve watched. This is high level college basketball.

Hadn't looked at KenPom in the past few days. When did we get pushed out of the Top 10?
