Offensively this team reminds me so much of our Natty team (no, I'm not saying they are that good). But that year we had a PG in Davion who we could isolate and he could blow by his defender and get to the rim (Nunn does a lot of this). We had Teague who was a bigger guard who could bury 3s or cook in the mid-range (Walter does this plus can get all the way to the rim better than Teague did). We had Butler who was our best ball-handler and another PG on the floor (Dennis brings this element but is a better creator than Butler, though not quite the shooter). We had Flagler probably the best 6th man in the nation (Love does that for us this year). Multiple guys who could handle, initiiate offense, and score in a variety of ways to keep defenses off balance. Plus the same unselfish attitude and willingness to sacrifice invididual stats to feed the hot hand.

Too early to make any meaningful comparisons to the Natty team on offense, but what I will say in comparison to the Natty team is that this team has been just as fun to watch offensively as that team. These guys play like they all like each other and have fun playing with each other, moreso than any team I've watched this year (and I watch a LOT of basketball). VERY refreshing!

I cannot describe it adequately, but Jared Butler had a special way if faking at a defender before shooting a 3 pointer and it often worked. It reminds my of a juke move in the gridiron. It was fun to watch. The example that stands out to me was in the dominant win at Kansas in 2020 when he did it to Christian Braun. I think he did it against Gonzaga a couple times during the natty game.

I'm somewhat surprised that some of it players since then have not tried to emulate it. Maybe it's a special skill unique to Jared. It worked so well and when it did, the announcers were enthusiastic in their praise.

I think it's safe to say that they pass the ball very well in a way that is reminiscent of the natty team. I'm not saying they are as good but they are so much fun to watch!

Yes I can visualize that move he used to make. Butler's game was so crafty and efficient. For the amount of time he handled the ball he hardly ever turned it over and always could keep defenders off balance. His only flaw was he tended to over-dribble but by that last year he knew when to give it up. Beautiful pace to his game, pristine and repeatable shooting mechanics and always had the perfect shot selection and had a knack for hitting the big clutch shots. Goodness I miss watching him play in the green and gold.

I think this team may be better offensively than the title team, as crazy as it is to say. We have more weapons this year than that team had.

This group isn't nearly as good defensively as that team was, but it's damn near unstoppable on the offensive end. Every guard can get to the rim at will and we're shooting 47-ish percent from 3 as a team. Crazy.
