I think we must have a legit shot, and that's why Drew and his entire staff are there.
It was pretty much thought it was a given he was signing with Duke after he attended Midnight Madness. Most of the insiders said he wanted to visit St. Johns but it was basically 95% Duke, 5% St. Johns and no one else had a shot. Well, he didn't do what the recruiting experts thought and after his St. John's visit he suddenly made a visit to Kentucky. The recruiting experts thought Calipari and Kentucky must have suprisingly bought him through NIL, but once again they were shocked as he didn't commit or sign there. Weeks have gone by and no commitment to anyone and the talk about Duke has become less and less.
A few months back, when I first watched this kid, I didn't say what I thought: he might be a better player in the Baylor system than the other guy--likes to play d, doesn't need the ball in his hands all the time, a smooth as glass outside shot. Can see why Drew is chasing him.
Drew has never shied away from going after the great guards. Remember when he pursued John Wall when we hadn't won an NCAA tournament game in 55 years.
