A little advanced notice would've been nice.

I mean you give up on every team in every sport every year, so you should feel at home.

No one gave up. We just got our ass kicked.

We got in an early hole and couldn't ever climb out of it.

Pissboy Pollyanna, I'm not calling for Drew's head. Just that the team take a long bus ride back to Waco. Planes are for champions.

Yep. Lots of basketball left. File this one away, and move on. We'll rebound.

Not really. Everyone knew these two games were the most daunting on the schedule, and these new guys had not played in an intimidating environment yet.

To say they gave up is as naive as saying they wouldn't have a problem with MSU.

To say we quit is a bit harsh, no matter how disappointed in our no-show today. Had they quit they would not have played them even in the second half. This had more to do with Michigan State finally putting a complete game together AND hitting us in the mouth early. Had we given up, we would have lost 34-90.

If I'm not mistaken, the team is going straight to New York to prepare for Duke.

You can always tell the ones who never played a competitive sport after games like this.

Each of them starts a new thread to say the exact same thing.

It's one loss. We've got probably 8 or 9 more so brace yourself.

For example..we still haven't played on a hostile road venue.

This will probably happen again in Provo and Lubbock. This is what you get boys when you're the hunted .we ain't the hunter anymore. We get everyone's best shot and it's circled on the calendar.

For all practical purposes, today was a hostile road environment. Detroit is apx 1,279 miles from Waco and 89 from East Lansing.

Thank you sir.
I have found theres only two ways to go:
Living fast or dying slow.
I dont want to live forever.
But I will live while I'm here.

I was as stunned as anybody as while I knew like everyone that this team wasn't going undefeated, I thought it was at least good enough to avoid being taken to the woodshed by anybody. Obviously that was wrong, and I'm not being a "Pollyanna", but hey - it's just one game during a long season. If the performance against Duke remotely resembles the MSU disaster, then we've likely got reason to worry. Hoping for and expecting a bounce back performance. We'll find out soon.

That game hopefully was the embodiment of many concepts:

1) never schedule a tough game right after finals break. Baylor MBB seems to not learn that lesson.

2) snowball effect is real.

3) losing reveals weak points. Losing badly hopefully slaps players into the reality to work on those weaknesses.

4) like Gonzaga learned in 2021, be ready to play at the tip-off.

5) skilled PGs that aren't super quick/athletic have difficulty against better competition. Athleticism matters, especially at the PG position.

6) skill only takes a team so far, hustle & athleticism are also necessary components.

7) the road is long & tough, no short cuts to success.

Sick and tired of the week and a half to two week breaks in the schedule that have been around since (hit the) Rhoades has been around. Team has always come back that first game rusty.

Rhoades has to go.

Really dumb statement. These guys were studying for and taking finals. There's always the nba for people like you.

Trust me .that wasn't no hostile environment in a sterile NBA arena...

Wait till you see what greets us in the Marriott Center in Provo with 22,000 strong..or in the United Spirit in Lubbock..this is a young team ..were not going to know what hit us..

... what is this supposed to mean? And why would I trust you? This was absolutely a hostile environment. Obviously there are more rabid fan bases, but not many. The enemy fans were there in force, friendly not so much. No need to prove to us how much you know about other arenas.

These are all well done. All 7 are applicable.

It's quite possible that Drew arranged this game, not Rhoads.

Were you at the game? My son went and said it was extremely hostile. Not only does this sterile arena hold more fans than Michigan States home arena, but it was packed with Michigan State fans. Even the TV announcers commented on how loud it was. I'd be curious how you gathered your take that this was no hostile environment because that's not the take I got from BU fans in attendance.

You guys are really burying the lead of my original post..please go back and read it....

Even if Little Caesars was a hostile environment..the point of my post was this is the first loss of at least 8-9 more this season and it's no reason to fall off a cliff yelling the sky is falling.
