If this is right why not play the rest of the year in Ferrell? I understand about the Ballprk but we have a venue for basketball.

Parking is open. Both the garage and CRT. As well was Webster garage. And shuttles from McLane, Ferrell and downtown.

Methinks some of you get off by dogging Baylor whenever you can

There are thousands of parking spaces in downtown a short walk to the fieldhouse. There are also buses running nonstop same as football.

No team bathrooms? What are they gonna do, run to the convenience store down the street?

Park the Bear's Lair trailer out back, like they used at the HOT. Or, like Bill Walker for KSt a few years ago, just grab a handful of towels on the sideline.

I never understood the rush of trying to play these games before conference play. Also, the one thing that had to get done by the city was... finish University Parks north of I-35 and add walking and bike paths. Not going to happen in time... yikes!

The parking space in the Ferrell lots that are furthest from the entrance are roughly 2/10 mi as measured on Google maps. The closest free parking space downtown (convention center lot across from Ninfa's is roughly 4/10 mi from the entrance.

Assuming the garages will have capacity for roughly 1,000-1,500 of the highest $$$ donors ($9,000 BBF and above), and assuming 500-1000 students will walk from campus, that leaves 4,500-5,000 to try to shuttle via buses. At a capacity of 50 per bus, than means 90-100 bus round trips needed.

I have no idea how many buses they will use, but if they use 4-5 buses per route, that still means each bus would have to make 5-7 round trips. And at 10-15 minutes per round trip (including loading/unloading time) that could easily take up to an hour to clear out the crowd after the game.

Yeah, this is the real problem. Assuming they have functional plumbing and concessions, the rest of the structure being under construction isn't a big deal. The fact that you can't walk under I-35 on that side of the river (without crossing the frontage roads anyway) and that University Parks looks like it's in Gaza in front of the arena is going to be an issue.

Once all of that's fixed I think the location will be good, and probably great if they knock down Robinson Tower. They do need to make it walkable from the Law School area. It will be, but that should've been done already. Same for walking down the river from downtown.

It's playable in it was never gonna be done by January 2. All the finishing touches and everything will be done by July. The parking garage is getting faade put that will include a massive video board on plus there's gonna be retail space at the first floor. Also, the Riverwalk is about to be completely remade starting hopefully the spring to be done by 25.

Spectators be damned, I just hope the unfinished nature of the arena doesn't negatively affect our team's performance lol.

Over 20 years ago I believe we hosted a NCAA baseball subregional before the Baylor Ballpark was completed. My recollection (I wasn't there)was that seats were not yet installed so the spectators had to sit on the concrete tiers. We caught some flak over that.

Yep no seats and no overhang against OSU. It was a hot one. I can't remember about the locker rooms. Didn't the teams have to change in the Ferrell Center? I think we might have played the Ole Miss series at MCC when the year started also. That Baylor team was something! I think that was ten year we had over 100 home runs and over 100 stolen bases.

Received a email today and part of it asked us to show them some grace as many parts are still under construction. I'm going to attend the game expecting there to be issues. I'm looking at it as an opportunity to see the facility as is and watch some Baylor basketball.

I tried to warn everyone not to throw away their Stadium Pal when Briles was fired. They were certainly a necessity during Art's era to avoid missing us score in 30 seconds. I knew no one would ever need them again at a football game, but see there -- you should have planned ahead and known you might need them for basketball one day!!!!!!!

Yeah, because random workers working in a parking garage are privy to all the insider info

Sure there are absolutely going to be adjustments and growing pains with the logistics. They're not going to be able to eliminate congestion and traffic. That's just a part of having a downtown arena. People will complain unless they can just pull up and park right next to the stadium with zero traffic. Also, the small contingent that wanted the stadium at the Ferrell center want to say "I told you so"
