I've posted on other threads about this complaint and everyone should brace themselves for no action to be taken. The venue was built for a fan experience, not a TV experience. If you look at how the arena was constructed, they have put preferred seating ($$$) in the ideal TV camera spot. And they are not eliminating those seats so that people watching on TV have a better camera angle. The only option is to locate the cameras on the opposite side of the arena (BU logo would be upside down for TV) which would then cause them to have to also relocate the TV announcers to the opposite side of the sideline, which is occupied by game officials. They would also need to remove ADA seating and build into the concourse where there is already a concession stand. Don't want to burst any bubbles, but I don't see this happening.

My bubble is fine. But this arena sucks. And it's the worst in the nation. If you don't mind that, then great grand wonderful. Until they change it, then they will be the laughing stock of the entire country. I wish Mack Rhoades would leave. He has no attention to detail at all.
Have you attended a game in-person? Curious as to why you think it stinks (other than the camera angle)?

I'm speaking of the camera angle. Television audience is important. Downplay it all you like. It won't make the problem go away.

Thanks for this info (if true). The vast majority of the world is only going experience the Baylor Bears @ FP via television broadcast. It was a huge mistake that needs to be fixed. The longer this goes on without an administration comment the more I believe the above is true. They are trying the head in the sand method for fixing the problem and hoping it will go away someday.

I'm going to start posting a Twitter search of "Baylor camera angle" after every game for those who don't think this is a legitimate problem.

It's not just Baylor fans railing on our TV angle. Our games draw mass ridicule literally every broadcast from basketball fans all over the country. No one wants to watch a game from the rafters.

Even worse from a PR standpoint, the top basketball media personalities have torn into as well. It is universal suckage, which is sad because Foster has receives universal acclaim for everything else from the same media types.

Could be wrong, but I think he's only talking about the camera angle. If so, he just badly worded it.

We can lock this thread and put a moratorium on future camera angle threads.

Mack said they're looking into addressing it after the season.

Can you post a link showing Mack has said this? If he really addressed it, then yes it should be locked.

Sure, you can call it a poor choice of words. But I don't. I operate under the premise that if one aspect of a creation is way off, then the problem affects the whole creation. So as is, Foster sucks. The issue with the camera angle is egregious enough to me to say that the whole thing sucks. Once the camera angle is fixed, then my opinion about the whole will change.

Although there is no quick fix, this is reassuring. I don't know why it took so long to address, but at least they did eventually.

Yeah, but what if I liked your suggestion better? Hand the high money dudes a cam as they walk in the doors at Foster and tell them to get their butts to work shooting the game. Only break is at halftime.

There is a quick and obvious fix. Baylor will just be loathe to do it because it will cost the school money.

Thanks, just listened to it. from 15:00 to 17:00 at the following link:

https://sicem365.com/s/16753/mack-rhoades-baylor-landed-in-a-great-spot-with-the-schedule-release/3

---though how he claims that some people have approached him saying they actually like the camera angle--well that's a head scratcher.

In any case, he's aware of the issue and has provided a timeline on addressing the issue.

Another problem with zooming is that the tighter the zoom, the greater the loss of depth-of-field. The image flattens. So you lose much of the above-the-rim action and the impressive arc of long three-point shots, among other aspects of the game. Right now the TV games from Foster Pavilion are difficult to watch. There's every reason to expect it will be fixed by next season.

Let's finish this season at the Ferrell. We had a better record anyway. Give Foster another try next season.
