Historically, a high school or organization has only been allowed to have two (2) players to encourage the selection of qualified players from a broad range of schools. In rare exceptions, a third (3rd) player from a high school or organization has been allowed when the absence of this player would significantly undermine the quality of the game. The rare third (3rd) player exception is determined at the sole discretion of the selection committee.

Basically Flagg (Duke) and McNeely (Indiana) got the two spots from Montverde so Wright was screwed because he went to a super-basketball program school.

A massive coup for Baylor coach Scott Drew, who beat out Duke and Kentucky for Edgecombe. The Bahamas native is a three-level scorer, but is at his best getting to the rim and finishing in the paint. He's made strides from the perimeter and also has an effective mid-range and pull-up game. In Waco, Edgecombe should slot seamlessly into Ja'Kobe Walter's -- a projected one-and-done top-10 pick -- role in the backcourt.

Actually Montverde DID have 3. I forgot Derik Queen. So basically, Wright wasn't considered one of the top 3 looks like he and Asa were #4 and #5.
