Things you don't see every day:

Through almost 10 minutes of the 1st half, KU is shooting:

90% from the field
100% from 3
100% from FT line

All against the #1 defensively efficient team in the country (and by quite a big margin).
Saw a portion of the half. They are getting really easy looks. Completed diced up the defense. Unforced TO's kept that from being a 25 point game. Controlling the boards is key against a Sampson team. Their whole offense is predicated on it and KU dominated the glass.

Curious if they let them back in the game. If that swing man Furphy is legit as he looks, they have something. The Adams kid looks strong too. They were missing 2 more contributors and they might have found them. They are still really thin but their top level is the best in the league.

And the game is being officiated surprisingly well so nothing there to blame this game.

I love that the refs are letting them play. Only 10 total fouls called in the game thus far.

Adams was already a known entity entering the season. They still can't really hit much from deep, and they're incredibly thin, but when they're on, they can play with anyone in the country.

I've always thought this Houston team would struggle on the road and with the depth of the Big 12. That's holding true today.

We need to beat Oklahoma. They're not very good. They got propped up big time by a bad nonconference schedule. They're crashing back to earth in league play.

They probably will. And lose by a bucket or two. That's what they do.

As I keep telling myself, I can grudgingly accept the Texas loss but I can't accept the K State loss. They're just not that good and we had a 6 point lead with 1:53 to go. That was truly a squandered opportunity.
We played like deep fried dog **** that game. We didn't deserve to win.

That's the one game we've played in Big 12 play that was just a disastrous performance.

We got beat by a mediocre K-State team that didn't even play well.

This is Houston's chance. If they don't make their run here (down 13 with 14:32 left), I don't think they will.

Dickinson is going to hurt someone with his elbows.

That dude is dirty as hell.

Kansas is dominating Houston. At least Houston still has some fight but I don't know if they can overcome this deficit.

He's also a ********. If he had played his first two years in the Big 12, he'd be the most hated player in the conference by a wide margin.

As soon as I typed that Houston makes some good place both offensively and defensively!

I mean KU's passing and cuts have made Houston's D look downright awful all game long.

Houston doesn't score fast enough to come back from this. Chalk this up for a KU victory with 12 minutes to go.

Houston didn't make its run. This one is over.

The Coogs weren't ready for the Phog.

His elbows are head or neck level on almost every box out. And he almost never gets called. Someone needs to point that out.

Idiotic for pundits to have moved Kansas down to 3 seed .

I don't care who their hiccups were against. This will be their 4th(!) Top 10 win and it's only Feb 3rd.

We spend too much time trying to find warts in resumes instead of looking at what someone has done.

Ku's TOs with momentum allowing Cryer and co to hang around. Lj only guy not looking shook on offense

They have some really good wins and clearly have a very high ceiling. But they're 2-3 in true road games this year (1-3 in league play) with wins over mediocre teams and a couple of really questionable losses.

Scheduling in college basketball has allowed teams to hide warts by playing nothing but home and neutral site games until conference play.

Houston has it down to 10 all of the sudden with just under five minutes remaining. It's now or never for the Cougars.

UCF moving on to 4-5 in the conference, OU falls to 4-5

If Baylor wins tonight & tech loses, we will be tied at the top of the conference standings:

Kansas 4-2
K State 4-2
Baylor 4-2 (with a win)
Tech 4-2 (with a loss)

If Tech wins, they will remain alone at the top & the other 3 will be tied gif second place.

All things, considered, a win puts us in a pretty good place. However, we still have a grueling schedule ahead of us. Baylor's schedule after today probably still is the toughest in the country.

If BU wins and TT loses today....

UH 6-3
KU 6-3
BU 5-3
ISU 5-3
TT 5-3
TCU 5-4

So far UC is doing what I thought they would do to give them a chance to win. They have the guards who can defend Isaacs and take him out, forcing someone else to step up for Tech. Gonna be interesting to see McCasland's adjustments, which he did quickly after UC's first run.
