If Baylor wins tonight & tech loses, we will be tied at the top of the conference standings:

Kansas 4-2
K State 4-2
Baylor 4-2 (with a win)
Tech 4-2 (with a loss)

If Tech wins, they will remain alone at the top & the other 3 will be tied gif second place.

All things, considered, a win puts us in a pretty good place. However, we still have a grueling schedule ahead of us. Baylor's schedule after today probably still is the toughest in the country.

If BU wins and TT loses today....

UH 6-3
KU 6-3
BU 5-3
ISU 5-3
TT 5-3
TCU 5-4
Tonight is a huge opportunity for us. We need to find a way to win at home.

This game will determine what tier of the Big 12 standings we end in IMO. If we beat Iowa State at home, I think we'll have a legitimate chance to achieve the 12-6 or so record that will put us in the mix for a Big 12 title. If we don't, I see us finishing closer to .500 in league play, below the five or six true contenders in our league.

This is a big game for our Bears. We need to treat it as such.

Man just 1 of 3 games we had control in and we would be in decent shape to at least contend. K state and Tcu games were both borderline collapses.

Should have won Texas too with even mediocre offensive execution down the stretch but I'll give them that one.

To finish in the Top 4 or 5 in the conference, we really need to do no worse at home than 7-2. And, if we lose tonight it already brings the 2nd loss with games at home still against OU, Tech, Kansas, Texas and UH. Probability of sweeping all 5 of those isn't very high. Otherwise, we basically have to be close to perfect on the road and that's not likely in the Big 12.

I have a little different take on the TCU and Texas losses. I don't think any lead before about the five-minute mark of the second half is all that significant in the Big 12, so I don't consider those games collapses.

The K-State game was, but that was just a disastrous performance all around. I think the Big 12 is a lot like the NBA. Teams make runs and build leads over the first 35 minutes, but the final five are the ones that really matter.

The Texas game was a one-point game at the five-minute mark and the TCU game was a two-point affair.

We've just got to get better at finishing games. The UCF game was a step in the right direction. We need to build on that tonight against ISU.

It's too much of an ugly trend to write off for me. Sometimes you just get beat but when you fail to execute at all I consider it differently.

Texas I agree with. But hard to stomach

If you look across our league, though, it's happening to everyone. That's the nature of the beast in the Big 12.

Success in this league is determined by how you finish games. Tech and Iowa State are near the top because they've done a really good job of winning close games.

TCU, Texas, BYU, Cincinnati and us are in the middle to lower tier because we've all struggled in that area.

Weird stat of the day. Have no idea who all these games were against and how far this goes back.

Tech leads UC by 1 at the half 37-36.

Isaacs has fought through double teams to score 10 but the surprise of the day is Robert Jennings who has averaged 2 points a game off the bench for Tech has 10 at the half.

The team ranked just in front of us #17 Utah St lost today. #16 Auburn down 9 at half to OM

Jennings is going nuts for Tech. Where the heck did this game come from?

It's one of the things that impressed me with McCasland at North Texas. He seemed to have the ability to take Just a Dude and turn him into a reliable, contributing player. He appears to be doing the same thing at Tech with several guys who have what I would term as marginal talent.

Thanks. I was using ESPN's list & didn't realize their numbers had already updated.

It's still a pretty decent position in the standings.

Who would've thought that the Cincinnati at Texas Tech game would be so exciting! So far I think it's the most interesting Big 12 game of the day.

It might include losing to us in the Final Four. Then again, it might only mean regular season. I do recall that they were great in the American Conference the last few years.

This UC - Tech game is really good.

UC leads by 1 with 3:12 to go.

Watching that game also.

With OK State finding their rhythm there is absolutely no gimmes in this league now.

He's an elite coach. I don't know that he's a great offensive coach, but his teams are going to be tough and play really stingy defense.

Isaacs hasn't given them much tonight, especially in the second half. If they lose this one, that will be the reason.

Tech's big men pass really well. They've had some excellent passes to cutters tonight.

I was listening to Tech call on Sirrius XM and they said he's had a terrible headache all night.

Rubbing his head during every timeout and between plays.

And then Isaacs hits that shot. Crazy.

UC WINS!!!!!!

Tech goes down 75-72 in Lubbock.

I get credit for the call, right?

Good call.

I thought Isaacs was going to break their heart again. Haha.

Same!!!!! After he threw up the contested 3 and hit it, I fully expected Tech to get a last second shot and win it.

Ridiculous you can't make a basket point blank in front of you at two point range with nobody guarding you can't get it in...
