Bill Self ejected with second technical.

That's 3 Big 12 coaches in a week or so

It's crazy. I don't see anything special about Techs roster. Looks like a collection of borderline decent guys. Makes it more frustrating Bu isn't at least tied for first.

No disrespect, but a league with Iowa st, Houston, and Tech at the top (if it finishes that way) is a perfect storm. The league is tough because it's so solid. But would still like to see at least a tiny glimpse of top talent.

Took Tech -3.5 also felt like east $$.. KU is CRIMINALLY overrated

Right on cue, Tech fans are chanting "overrated"!

Chanting it again!

Tech fans now chanting we want KEVIN!!!!! (McCullar)

You're underestimating ISU that's a legit squad. I've said all season Tech is fools gold and I stand by that.
It's incredibly frustrating knowing we should be a good 8-2 in league play. Gotta go 2-0 this week

Tech is dominating the cartoon birds!

We should be able to beat them soundly in Waco. But McCullar will probably be healthy by then.

Kansas is just bad on the road. We have to win that game in Waco.

We haven't beaten anyone soundly all year in League play. Seriously doubt that starts with a healthy KU team. They played horrendous in Lawrence and still lead us from start to finish

Yep. Definitely the most competitive conference but honestly could see an avenue where only 1 Big 12 team is left in the tournament after the first weekend. But, in this weird year, I could also see where 3 or 4 get through with the right matchup.

Maybe I'm dreaming. I am assuming that our team continues to improve like they have been doing for the past few games. I also don't judge the team too much by what happens at Allen Field House. That place is unique & very intimidating. I look at the game Saturday as mostly positive (except the turnovers, obviously) because we lost by only 3. We've had too many blowout losses there over the years.

KU, BU, BYU, Tech are gonna need the brackets to break perfectly to reach the S16. Houston, ISu, TCU are the only teams that could advance regardless of matchups imo. I don't see Tx, Cincy (if they get in) KSU (If they get in) doing anything

Update:

Dickinson, Adams and Harris: 5-30 or 17% from the field tonight.

This is a year where a team like tcu could make the final 4 just on age / experience

What an utter ass kicking.

Tech 79
KU 50

TCU's biggest obstacle is that they go into long lapses of ugly ball in every game, and if they do it at the wrong time in the tournament they're gone.

Their biggest strength is they can go deep and have a roster that can match almost any style which could help them go further than a lot of other Big 12 teams.

Can't remember seeing Kansas play scared like that. Tech crowd must have really been in their heads. Dickinson airballing 3s, stupid fouls, everyone waiting for someone else to do something. Wild stuff.

Isu is. I'm probably underrating them a bit due to their name. The overseas freshman is a talent. They also have an underrated track record of their guys performing well in the league.

They have the most talent of the three. Still wouldn't consider it great but it seems like the age/experience v talent issue is coming to a head this year.

It's strange seeing these grinding style teams that lack a special something leading the supposed "best league in the country by far." Probably wouldn't be saying this had they pulled out the game at Ku. But it doesn't add up to me.

Maybe im just surprised how Tech, Hou, and Iowa st look to be out performing our staff. Tech already plays with more consistent energy than our team. Iowa st and Hou play with many times the sustained focus of our group and have high level defenses with just decent to good individual guys.

I think they're running out of steam. It's a long year and they've basically had to play with 5 guys since November. The grind of the Big 12 is starting to show, which is why you must have some depth. Plus, the quick turnaround from Saturday to Monday doesn't help when you have no depth.

Defense and physical play/toughness. You're getting that every game from ISU and Houston. I think that's why they've had successful seasons.
They're also veteran squads. I won't get into that debate but having older squads is absolutely beneficial in this league

I'll definitely say this much for both UH and Iowa St. They look teams full of grown ass men.

I said it after ISU and i'll stand by it regardless of who we beat down the stretch. The ISU win is by FAR the most impressive W of the year
DanaDane

No argument from me. I won't be surprised at all if they last the longest of any Big 12 team in the NCAAs. They're most balanced on O and D, and right up there with UH in physicality.

Hou and Iowa St just play so hard could see them beating many decent teams. The sustained intensity they play with is their edge. Since they will play teams unfamiliar with them, it catches teams off guard. You don't get a ton of time to adjust in one game settings

Problem is once the talent level steps up, they are pretty much guaranteed to go life or death due to their play style. Skilled offensive teams can easily break down their overly aggressive college style defense. That becomes a complete toss up. I think some of the other leagues are being slept on.

Still like Bu's talent but looking like it will never come together in time. Missi great now Walter is lost. Nunn plays okay and Dennis struggles. Love rolling while Bridges disappears (offensively). TO's cleaned up, defense struggles. Defense stiffens, can't hit a shot. Shot falling, rebounding and defense lax.. on and on and on. Just strange but reality. Hope to be wrong.

The Tech ass kicking of KU makes that loss feel so much worse. We should have been able to win that game with our roster and them not having McCullar.

While I basically agree, the impact of McCullar's absence was largely negated by the impact of Love's absence. Had a healthy Love played and had even a barely average game I have little doubt we win.
