Sounds like the Arkansas job is Jerome Tang's if he wants it, but their fans may prefer other candidates.

I'm also told K-State is prepared to sweeten Tang's deal and is highly motivated to keep him in Manhattan.
Don't know what will happen. Interesting tug of war unfolding.
Enfield, who despite a top-rated recruiting class managed to finish 15-18, gets a new job at SMU...boognish_bear said:Kansas State coach Jerome Tang has emerged as the leading candidate at this time for the Arkansas opening, source told @TheFieldOf68.

Tang is currently at the top of the Razorbacks' list to replace Eric Musselman.

USC then picks Musselman, who's Razorback team finished 16-17...
Based on this, Tang's 23-11 down year at KSU over qualifies him for Arky.
You are correct, 19-15. My bad. Quick reference, apparently there is this other state school up there...who knew?IowaBear said:
Where are you getting that Tang went 23-11 this year? Def wasn't the case

No sport other than Big 10 and SEC football programs are going to be stable when the SEC and B10 get their way and players end up with some kind of payroll. I hope the big 12 works out but we need to be realistic here that there's 0% chance this conference looks remotely the same in 5 years, likely much much less. And everyone not in a mega tv contract like the SEC and B10 is going to have trouble paying players. Heck a handful of big 10 and SEC teams are going to have trouble doing that.PartyBear said:
The XII is looking as stable as the SEC and B10. The payout isn't as high but it is pretty damn stable and in Tang's sport, top brand.
sick of playing or sick of losing?IvanBear said:
Boo, I really wanted this to happen. Tang's crazy not to take that job, that would have been a great step up an easier recruiting platform and more conference stability. Arkansas is a way better job than K State.
Also I'm sick of playing Tang every year.

Coach K is now the leading candidate at Arkansas…
This just in.. Coach K says he's never received a call and is not a candidate.
The attention now shifts to Gregg Popovich.
Multiple sources are telling me Arkansas has zeroed in on John Calipari. Barring any last minute issues, I expect him to be the Razorbacks new head coach. pic.twitter.com/L9BSQHFzqW

Could actually have an impact on Bu. Might give Ark the juice to really make moves in DFW again.
A place that has produced probably the most talent of any metro in the country recently and a place where BU is one of the top 2-3 recruiters. Will be interesting.

Everyone needs to get ready for the drew to Kentucky rumors, already seeing him named the top target of active college coaches. That state needs to give up on thinking Drew is leaving baylor.
Kentucky names to watch:
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanHoops) April 8, 2024
Nate Oats (18 million buyout)
Scott Drew (4.5 million)
Bruce Pearl (7 million)
Billy Donovan (NBA)
Scott Drew, welcome to Kentucky.

Jerome Tang, welcome to Baylor.
Bruce Weber, welcome back to Kansas State.

Where do you get that the Big 12 was the top basketball conference? Got destroyed this year.
Drew is reading his morning paper and looking at the contract extension Mack just sent over this morning....boognish_bear said:IvanBear said:Quinton said:PartyBear said:
