Dumping the SEC/B12 Challenge opened up one game date.whitetrash said:
MBB is a 20 game 5 home/5 road/5 both schedule.
WBB is an 18 game 6 home/6 road/3 both schedule.
Expect 2-3 conference games before/during the Christmas break, especially for the men.

Didn't we also lose the Big 12 / Big East challenge? If so, that frees up another day. I kind of wish we still had one of those power conference crossover events. It's a good way to build the schedule against quality teams & Baylor usually did well in those games. We had the best record in the SEC challenge compared to all teams in both conferences.
Hopefully, Drew can get some good ooc games this season vs Big 10, ACC, SEC, etc. UConn will be a great game.

It will probably be the toughest non-conference in the country
If the game is played in Gonzaga's campus, there would not be an NIL component for both teams. $$$$$ talks.TXBEAR_bf said:
This shows Spokane; https://www.gonzagabulletin.com/sports/gonzaga-to-open-2024-25-season-against-baylor-at-spokane-arena/article_bd9ce592-76b1-11ef-9da3-0731c27970e4.html
First Vegas, Mexico? Hadn't heard that, now Spokane, not sure what to believe. On campus at Gonzaga would be the better option, but the Arena holds twice the crowd.
This will be the third time we have played them in Gonzaga's hometown since Drew has been here. Once in the larger Spokane Arena (Preseason NIT), once at The Kennel on campus and this year back to Spokane Arena.TXBEAR_bf said:

Maybe we should go very retro, and have the game played in the HOT coliseum. Unfortunately, the game will probably be Dallas or Fort Worth.TXBEAR_bf said:
100 percent. Just sucks that we couldn't do a true home and away. Now we will play in Dallas next year..assuming. Loss for college sports. Playing in college venues is what makes the sport great.
