Has Drew said anything ?or is it one of those "day to day" things where he's out all year.
The situation is weird. He's been medically cleared. He's also said he's feels the best he's felt in years yet he's not playing.

I don't think anyone knows. All I know is during his interview with Cam and Moze a couple of weeks ago it sure sounded like Fran basically hinted that we wouldn't see Love until mid to late January and we all know who Fran's source would be.

I think we need to treat every Langston Love appearance like a luxury. He's a great player and a good program guy. But through no fault of his own, he can't be counted on. His injury history is just too extensive to confidently pencil him into the rotation for more than a stretch here and there.

He was a game-time decision yesterday, and is considered day-to-day...according to the TV broadcast last night.

I'm hoping CSD is just playing it smart w LL. No need to bring him into TWO heavy weight fights coming off an injury. Especially when neither outcome has a significant impact on our season.

I wish I believed "game time decision" statements. Anyone remember LJ Cryer being a "game time decision" and "day to day" for the final 7 weeks of 2021-22 season? He only stepped foot on the floor 1 time after January 25th and missed 15 games.

Utah football is the only college program that has as many strange injury situations as BU basketball. Love was also game time several weeks both of the previous two seasons. There was one more guy who was "game time" quite a bit in the 22' season as well.

Yup. Akinjo.

Drew's certainly not the only coach who does it so I don't put much stock into any coach saying someone is a game time decision.

Yep it was Akinjo. The whole roster that was left was playing through some serious pain in 22' or we would have Uconn'ed to a title that year (went OT with the hottest team / recently beat and co-champs with the eventual champ)

Definitely agree. KU would have been the favorite in '20 but we also would have been one of the 4 or 5 most likely to win. Then won it in '21. And no one looked like they could touch us after that demolishing of Nova in front of Dickie V in December of '21-22 year. And then injuries got us.

That same Nova team made the final four and then got run by KU. I think they run to a title. With Langston, Cryer, and Jon healthy in addition to the other guys we had.. forget it.

We were 17-0 and ranked #1 before being snakebit by injuries.

The defensible showing against nova had me believing we had a decent shot to go

Before all the injuries that '21-'22 team was to date the last team we've had that was capable of playing great man to man defense.

That Villanova game at the Ferrell Center was legitimately terrifying. I've never seen a college defense flying around like that. We absolutely dominated a team that went to the FF.

Such a shame that injuries derailed that season. It goes to show how much the stars have to align to make a deep tourney run.

We may be looking at a Medical Redshirt…No real knowledge, just intuition after he's already been out so long with an ankle injury. It must have been much worse than disclosed.

That was a great game. The Ferrell Center was super loud!!! Comparable to any of the Kansas games I've attended there (a few) or WBB v #1 UConn in January 2019 on the way to another natty.

It's time to stop the wishful thinking on Langston Love. If an ankle hasn't healed in almost 9 months, it's not magically healing any time soon so he's effectively done. It was evident a couple of weeks ago Drew is the one who told Fran not to expect Langston back. Now he's telling the fanbase through Mose's show,

First EJ now Langston. Very sad to see injuries wreck promising careers. This is why I never judge guys who wanna leave early to get paid while they can. All these guys are an injury away from being cooked.

It just sucks to see good kids like that have their dreams snuffed out by injuries. Unfortunately almost every school has 1 or 2 though. I look at Norchad and convince myself EJ would have been at least that or maybe even better if he hadn't been robbed by that wretched knee injury.

Different types of players, but agree. EJ was a phenomenal energy guy and who I think at minimum would have had a great overseas career.

Jon was upping his offensive game just as he got hurt. That team would have dominated the tourney, even with Akinjo and Sochan at 75% or whatever they were.

Can't help but think something is strange about the injury schedule for both Love and LJ. LJ has been banged up but plays 100X harder at UH than he did here and hasn't been hurt after his foot repair. Banged up but never out.

Love after the knee, probably led to overcompensation and just can't get right. Ankle is either chronic or tore / break type deal to take this long. Need him if we're going to run teams off the court with our offense but now just need him to get healthly for his own sake. Would be the second or third best scorer on each of the other 3 top big 12 teams.. that's how good he is. But availability and all that is the single most important thing. Just a strange, strange situation. All the innuendo and vague communciation through third parties is just strange but we''ll see.

I agree with you. It is reasonable to question what went awry with the rehabs of both LJ and Langston whether it was misdiagnosis, discovery of additional issues into the rehab, miscommunication or misleading of the actual extent of the injury or something else.

It's just strange. Don't know anything about our medical staff. Either way coach still maintaining we could see him back anytime. Gamesmanship only goes so far, it's just strange. I would guess January
