You reminded me...Back in the mid-70s, late night at the McD's across from campus, watching Ronnie "Bo" Lee come in to get a bag or 2 of the unsold burgers. Bo was a tight end a Baylor, became an all pro Tackle protecting Dan Marino for the Dolphins. Sad to note Bo passed away last year.Illinois Bear said:J.J.Crockett said:

He was spotted in the Arby's drive thru last night.

From what I remember (which may be faulty), Arkansas had taken out our kicker a couple of years back, so the play was essentially delayed payback. My first thought when we saw Ronnie coming through was perhaps we were trying to create Football history by blocking the kickoff?Johnny Bear said:TWD 1974 said:You reminded me...Back in the mid-70s, late night at the McD's across from campus, watching Ronnie "Bo" Lee come in to get a bag or 2 of the unsold burgers. To this day when I hear Ronnie Bo Lee's name I immediately think about his devastating hit on Arky's kicker (I think his name was Steve Little) when Lee as a freshman was on our kickoff return team and Lee ran full boat at Little (was 4-5 yards offsides). He proceeded to pancake Little before he got his kicking leg down. One of the reasons I so vividly recall it is because I had such a good view of the whole thing. In real time I thought I might have just witnessed a murder given the way Little laid there totally motionless for seemingly several minutes. Eventually they got him off the field and we got a 5 yard penalty. Understandably Arky coach Frank Broyles was totally livid.
Is he injured and seeking a medical redshirt? College football let's you play in up to 4 games and still redshirt, but you can't redshirt in college basketball once you step foot on the floor once during an actual game, other than seeking a medical redshirt. The NCAA has discussed changing the playability rule in basketball and other sports but it has not been implemented.chorne68 said:
Probably going to redshirt.
There's been some discussion about the rotation patterns this year...it may have to do with practice or off the court issues, who knows? I was glad to see Asemota on the court though. Really hope he can develop this year.Johnny Bear said:
Noticed he didn't see the floor during garbage time against Abilene Christian when Drew otherwise emptied the bench and wondered what was up with that.

I never want to be critical of a player. Marino is a good story, a young player getting away from Ukraine, getting a US education and chance to play with future NBA players... He has a nice touch for a big and can hit the open three. He does not show the mobility or athleticism to compete well at this level. If he can develop an inside game he might become a resource if we were to commit more to the zone, perhaps. I remember seeing Josh Lomers as a Freshman-sophomore and thinking, no way. He developed into a workable center for us. I think Marino is going to get better but it might be a few years down the road.
Was that the game where it rained cats and dogs and a few fish as well?TWD 1974 said:From what I remember (which may be faulty), Arkansas had taken out our kicker a couple of years back, so the play was essentially delayed payback. Bo was an amazing athlete. I remember being in awe of how fast Larry Allen of the Cowboys was at 350lb. Bo was not quite as big but faster. I also remember we played A&M in Collie Town and he got a pass over the middle that he took 80 yards for a TD. That was a legendary Aggie Defense but trying to stop Bo at full speed was like tackling a freight train.
