The fans are not too happy with Tang this year.
They are 7-8 and lost by thirty at home against Houston.

I love Tang and love what he did for us here. Great guy and wish him the best. But it's laughable how that first year at KSU there were fans on here who thought he was better than CSD.

Who has said that… haven't seen a single person say that. The only thing I've seen said is the defense has fallen off considerably since he left. Whether that's a direct product of him leaving I have no idea.

There were a few posters (the usual suspects) openly wondering if we retained the wrong coach during the 2022-23 season.

It was a couple years ago, I don't remember the exact posters who said that.

Agreed our defense has been dreadful since Tang left. But we lost great individual defenders off that natty team and that elite 21-22 team so it can't all be attributed to poor coaching.

Our defense has quietly made strides this season, and is looking better than it has the past 2 seasons.

A couple of trolls may have inferred it...there's always one or 2 that show up after a tough loss, like mildew after rain...

Tang's a great defensive coach, but HC's are judged by wins not defensive kenpom ratings; also, we had one or two star players the past few years that I'm not sure a tandem of Popovich and Tang would have made much of a difference with.

The one thing I'll say about Tang is that he seemed to be our juice guy. Always riding the refs, always firing up the players. I think his energy is sometimes missed. I don't pay close enough to attention to say for sure he's why our defense fell off a cliff.

Maybe we can get him back. Drew is clearly a better coach with Tang around
