It is a weird. Fans can criticize our roster construction and recruiting philosophy, but targeting individual players and spewing hatred is beyond cringe.
Is the keynote thing supposed to be derisive, or he never got his name right?
Most phones autocorrect Keyonte to Keynote. It just became a running gag because it happened so often.
Thanks bear2be2. Definitely spell check. I have no hatred or anything for Keyonte George. I suggested he wasn't ready for the NBA after his freshman year and suggested he would have been better playing another year or two in college. I think the kid has lost his confidence and is definitely struggling to make any kind of shot other than a layup. Debate all you want but he needed another year or two in college. If the Jazz felt he was worthy of a first round pick then you go, I get it. I hope he does well but he won't be playing if he continues to shoot 38 %
I totally agree he would have benefited from another 1-2 years in college. Aside from Kevin Durant, I can't think of a player who wouldn't have. It's hard to evaluate play on a bad team. Stats this morning have Keyonte shooting 39.1% from the field for the season, same as his career numbers. This may sound bad to you, but you have to note that Jazz are only shooting 38% as a team. He is also the assist leader on a team with a couple of veteran point guards (I think of Utah as the team of misfit toys). Aside from his passing skills which are top level, his point production comes mainly from the three. I'd like to see a little better than 33% from 3. Defensively, hmm..next question...
I have no idea what will happen, but Keyonte has $8mm guaranteed, which is not bad for a 21 year old. Always seemed like a good guy, played hard for us. Jazz are a disaster so if he doesn't stay they are probably doing him a favor. He's going to be playing in the league for a while.
