We're been playing 7 players while Roach and Love are out.

But we have players who are not being used at all, not even to give a break to the others. Why not?

Our roster includes:

  • Cameron Carr, sophomore guard, 6' 5", a highly-regarded recruit who transferred to BU from Tennessee, once considered in the Top 50 of recruits nationally
  • Marino Dubravcic, freshman forward, 6' 10", who played internationally for the Croatia team. He might be a project, but there are times we need a big man to play a few minutes.
  • Yanis Ndjonga, a 6' 7" redshirt sophomore forward from Cameroon (injured last year, but what about now?)
  • Davidson Hubbard, a 6' 5" grad student guard who was 2nd Team All-American in Division III
  • Kaleb Jackson, a 6' 2" freshman guard walk-on who had a sterling high school career

None of have to be all-stars to make a difference, but why aren't any of them used even briefly so that CSD can give a quick rest to our starters??

Carr is not eligible until next Fall.

He can only practice this semester.

Carr is the only high D1 player and he can't play. Yanis based on this board (my confidence in their reads is low) has potential but probably isn't physically ready.

2 years into a knee injury (he hurt in spring 2003) and no competitive basketball tells me it must have been ultra serious, which then makes me wonder if it is basically another Tchamwa-Tchatchoua situation where the knee injury makes it almost impossible to realize the potential that was there.

Everybody has white boys at the end of the bench….
used in garbage time of non-con blowouts only
I'm not quite as dumb as I seem

You seem to be missing Omar Adegbola unless I am wrong. He is another player who missed last year with an ACL. He plays a couple of minutes in early cupcake games. He shows talent but raw as rain was the impression i think.

If VJ can't go tomorrow, we're going to have to get minutes from somebody. You can't play six guys -- one of which isn't really a rotation player himself (Asemota).

I think we need to find a way to get a minute here and a minute there from Adegbola and Dubravcic. Neither is really equipped to contribute at this stage, but we need both to play just enough to get the six rotation guys a breather here and there.

Omar Adegbola walked on and red shirted last yr, just like most walk-on will do. No ACL. He was placed on scholarship this yr. That would not happen without CSD seeing high potential to help the team at some point. I heard he's doing well at practice and I think he can play and compete well but may be CSD is hesitating to play 4 freshmen at the same time, plus commitments made to transfers and highly recruited players on playing time, NIL etc.. I do agree in a time when help is needed from the bench and injuries are piling up, you will have to suck it up and give those bench warmers few minutes here and there for starters to rest a bit. Asemota alone is not enough and his offense is limited. Once everyone is healthy, you can always go back to your regular rotation before the madness begins (hope we are in )
