-200 ish. That year Gonzaga and BU entered has heavy heavy favorites. Hasn't been a year in recent memory where there was two clear cut favorites

Thanks! I know just enough about sports betting to refrain from it.

We had the 7th most likely odds to be crowned NCAA champions at the end of the season while also being ranked as the 8th best team in the preseason AP poll.

We basically went 2-6 against the list above with double digit losses to all but UConn. At least 1 of our 2 wins was a double digit win over KU.

Makes sense. I'll just be happy if the 25 team actually makes the NCAAs. Far from a lock at this point imo. Any wins in the dance would be gravy if we get in. Gonna take an incredibly favorable matchup to win a game. And a miracle to get out of the 1st weekend.

The irony is that a lot of people, including me, laughed off those preseason scrimmage stats and said they didn't matter but if you go back and look at them they were on the mark of describing what type of team we would have this year.

I like this teams chances in The Tournament. Hardly a favorite, but definitely a team that could make a run.

We have played the second toughest schedule in the Country. Major props to Auburn with the toughest. Our Big XII schedule eases up and we could solidify a top 5 finish in the conference. Still way too much negativity not recognizing the adversity this team has gone through.

I may be missing it, but I haven't seen the big dog teams this year: the UConn team from last year or the year before, or Gonzaga or us from 2021. The teams at the top are very good, but they have flaws--theirs's just aren't showing as much as ours.

Need rebounding and defense. The defense stilll isn't solved and Josh was one of our only decent defenders.

The big 12 the last few years just isn't all that talented. The best teams are really solid, cohesive, hard working teams. This is one of Arizona's worst teams over the last several years and they come right in and contend. Now next year, the league will bring in the two best freshman in the country (BYU and KU), but they'll still be young. Going 7-6 so far in this league is very concerning.

But I agree, outside of Auburn and Duke, there isn't much out there. If this team was even top 40 in defense and had the same rebounding they had before Josh went down, they could do serious damage. They just shot 60% (not flukely either) on the most efficient defense in the country on the road. There is potential. But the defense is just really, really bad.. and has been for several years now.

People should read this past weeks article from The Athletic that outlined that pretty much every team in the Top 15 has lost 1 or more highly contributing players for various parts of the season. The injury excuse (some call adversity) we try to use every year to explain underachievement is growing old.
