TCU spotted Cincy a 2 touchdown lead before they finally hit a 3. Down 14-3 at the under 12 timeout.

I'm about as big of a Big 12 basketball fan as you will ever encounter, but the gap in quality of basketball this year between the SEC and Big 12 is fairly wide.

TCU and Cincinnati both playing awful basketball, bordering on almost unwatchable. I'm not sure either one of them could beat winless South Carolina.

A team that was considered 'In the Mix' if they went on a little run at the end of the season is not worse than South Carolina

South Carolina wouldn't be winless in the Big 12. They would have done like TCU and feasted on the CU's, Oklahoma St's, and Arizona St's of the world.

And I was referring to how they were playing during that game.

The big 12 isn't any good, in spite of what the commentators say. The talent level isn't that good and the teams are just kind of there. The league built rep on Ku and Bu being elite, we know both teams are junk this year.

Even Iowa st doesn't look all that great, but they are injured to be fair. I think they could be solid with some continuity.

Houston is good but inflated due to the softness of the league. They are 0-2 vs the sec and would have 4 to 5 losses minimum in that league right now. Big 12 is not good, and hasn't been for a few years.

Exactly right, Quinton. People who argue that anyone other than the SEC has been the best and deepest conference all year sound like they haven't watch any basketball all year. I hate the SEC. And, if you want to make the SEC getting passes in football without scheduling anyone non-conference, then have at it because there's not a lot of data with games against other conferences, top to bottom, to prove it. But the SEC's non-conference record across the board against every other conference this year was the most dominating of all time. Listen to every basketball coach or unbiased media guy and they say the same. So, people sound stupid that want to make idle arguments as if the SEC didn't play and beat others. And it wasn't just the top of the conference that did it. They did it across the board.

Jay Bilas just now talking about LJ Cryer. Praises his ability to score at Baylor, and then how he has done the same thing at UH. Then works in, "but he's much grittier on defense now."

Yeah, Jay, we've noticed that too.

Hey Iowa. What's the word in Iowa on Gilbert and Jones. Is it really sickness for one and injury for the other, or did they miss some curfew or got into something mischievous and TJ is sitting them under the disguise of sickness and injury?

Even a team like Duke. Their focus can wane with so many freshmen, but I'd be surprised if they dropped a game in this league. The talent is just different and they are a match up nightmare for a Houston type team.

In their only loss, supposedly Flagg was sick and probably shouldn't have played. I just trust my eyes on this which is why the frustration with the staff when they parrot the "life in the big 12" mantra. It's nonsense this year and it's embarrassing for the league

Peace with you Stefano. You are one of the old dudes in here. Bilas was just talking about Phi Slamma Jamma and its 3 consecutive trips to the Final Four in the 1980s. You were around then. What were they missing that kept them from winning any of the 3 ?

Iowa St in trouble. Cryer is having one of those games where he's feeling it and when that happens he doesn't miss. 4-4 from 3, 14 of UH's 30 points overall so far.

The sickness is real. Bad out break of the Flu here in Ames. There was a few other players who were in serious doubt of playing. Lipsey was one of them. I haven't heard about the injury yet.

Iowa st is borderline top 150 in their current state. Just no offensive ability at all (not their fault).

Strange we're pretty much the only team that worked over this defense at their place (Tech too?). I guess most college teams don't have the talent to completely spread them out and go.

No idea what you're talking about. Iowa st is a good team, the team on the floor right now obviously isn't. Again not their fault due to injuries

"Borderline top 150" come on now. Youve taken pot shots at ISU for like 2 years now. No idea why. It's rather clear when healthy they're 1 of the best teams in the country. Maybe that's just hard to accept? I respect your BB IQ but your takes on ISU are usually just dumb and end up way off base.

Iowa St is such a well coached team. I had hoped Pollard landed another Steve Prohm when he hired TJ but TJ is the real deal. They lose 2 starters a 3rd has been in foul trouble the whole game and yet they go on the road against the best team in the conference and are in this with a chance to win with 9 minutes to go,

Pretty impressive for a borderline top 150 squad. Time to flip over the BU game. Hopefully the Bears aren't ice cold to start per usual.

Cryer almost single handedly winning this game for UH on the offensive end.

Iowa St is the poster child for roster construction. They go out, find a big 6-10, 250 lb kid playing at a WAC school. He's not superstar in the WAC. They pay literally almost nothing for him. But he comes in as the 9th guy on the roster and important backup plan if bigs get in foul trouble or injured, gives 10-15 minutes a game as a backup and contributes on both ends of the court.

Milan's a pro with a little more seasoning.
