A loss to Houston won't effect us..A loss to Colorado or UCF may knock us to Last Four in but we should be ok

I wonder if Houston will sit anyone. I know this is not like Sampson, but he also lost one of his best players (Shead) to injury in the tourney last year. They might have a one seed locked and not sure they are playing for anything other than maybe the top one seed, but unsure if that is in the cards? I feel like one of the SEC teams is in the drivers seat.

Kelvin was loud and clear at 3 separate luncheons where I heard him speak. He is on a mission to make UH be THE basketball brand for the state of Texas and the first thing every hooper in the state thinks of when it comes to basketball. There is no chance he sits anyone before or during the game even if they get up 20+ points except for maybe the final minute of the game.

I agree, but if he ends up losing an important piece for the ultimate goal of winning the championship then it will be on him as a coach. Part of your strategy has to know when to let some guys rest for games that are just not critical. I would consider this one of those, plus you get to see some less used players in bigger roles.

Yeah it would be coaching malfeasance to grind his players 38 minutes or more Saturday night.

If Duke or Auburn suffer upsets this week or get bounced first day in their tournament I guess Houston could win the title in KC and displace them .

But a Quad 1 loss to Baylor at home is not going to hurt them bad

Auburn lost to Bama at home in OT

Making a couple Jumpers, Avoiding a weak flagrant foul would have got us one last regular season signature win. Now we see how it shakes out

I need to understand how we lose by 4 points to #3 team in Net and fall 3 spots to #33, while Utah St jumps 4 spots for beating Air Force, who was 4-26 coming into the game.

I thought that flagrant was bogus. With the way Houston was manhandling our team it should have been a regular foul or no call. There were a least 4-5 times where they flat out knocked on our guys over.
Their D is going to get called a ton in the tourney. I respect the hell out of how they play. They out the impetus on the other team to match their intensity and/or the refs to call the fouls.

It reminds me of how OU's football team used to play. Brutal, dares the refs to call them every time.

And we know where Sampson used to coach.

It was acting…He couldn't possibly have been hit that hard from the flick of a backhand. Might have cost us the game. He pulled the same act on just as weak a play a few minutes later and the Refs after review said nothing to call. Both times he acted as though he took a knock out punch and was down for the count.

Yep. The only reason there was a flick of the backhand by VJ was because his hand was being held by Sharp and he was trying to break away.
