They really seem to be mirroring our season...just continual underperformance relative to expectations

UCFs guards are a bad matchup for KU. But I was fairly confident KU would reach the semifinals. Not sure they even get by UCF tonight

29 made 3's in the BYU ISU game and we still have 8 minutes of game

BYU has played 10 guys and would have played 11 if Catchings was healthy, and all of them have scored. In fact, BYU's bench so far has scored 39 and the 5 starters have scored 36. They have the depth and the matchups that could wear down teams in the tournament. If they have an injury, they just plug and play with another guy. If they could just play any semblance of D, they would likely be the mid-tier seed that is a media darling to be that surprise team to make the Elite 8 or Final Four.

That's why I don't like hearing the injury excuse. Everyone has injuries. You have to construct a roster that can absorb those. TJ did.

I generally agree. But not all injuries are equal.

Us losing Ojianwuna, for instance, is a bigger loss than any single injury is for most teams because we started the season so light on frontcourt players.

That's our fault for constructing our roster that way, obviously, but losing Josh O was a ceiling-lowering injury for our team.

With him, we probably beat Colorado and Cincinnati and may have stolen one of the Arizona or Houston games at home. Without him, we limped to the finish and needed a conference tournament win to get in the field.

Top 4 in regular season all make it to the semi's. Based on the eye test all year I would have expected the semi's to come down to those 4 (or you could substitute in Iowa St) if someone asked who were consistently the best teams this year. Should be 2 really good games tonight.

I didn't see UH completely defacing BYU as hot as BYU has been.

Kelvin truly has created a machine at UH. Rest of the Big 12 is gonna have to step it up.

It's easy to see why I'm not a NBA scout. When I look at Demin of BYU, I see a tall athletic kid but I also see a kid who has bricked 3's all year long to the tune of 27%, has the 2nd highest TPP (turnover per possession) in the Big 12 because his handle is loose and too high, makes really bad in-game decisions and gets fundamentally dominated every time he plays against a physical defender. I don't see anything that says he is a Top 10 pick this year.
