Don't see any realistic path to the NXmCAAS. But the 2 game win streak is going to position this team to at least finish the season over .500 overall

TCU's just a bad matchup for us. So was Cincinnati -- particularly at the time of the year we played them.
If we had defended in those games the way we have the last two games, we'd have had a chance to win a rock fight. But we aren't good enough offensively to score on good defense and until recently we haven't defended worth a damn.
I hope this defensive improvement is real. Because we can stay in more games down the stretch if it is.

Our attendance is fine for where we are and who we are.. we probably.. no definitely.. draw better percentage wise students.. and city population than UT and the Aggies..
My freshman and sophomore years were 5-23 and 11-17 years under Jim Haller and we didn't draw flies to the HOT.
When we got competitive under Iba the crowds came.. A ranked TCU team with Jaime Dixon.. a ranked Tech team with Bubba Jennings.. and definitely Phi Slamma Jamma were sellouts.

I think it's hilarious. If they lose to Houston Saturday night in Provo (and they will), they'll be 5-5 in the Big 12, in the middle of the pack with a team payroll already confirmed from contracts shown to the media of more than $10 million.

Funniest thing is all of the BYU fans on social media are calling for the benching of Wright because his defense is so atrocious. They even have local media outlets calling him out for giving up so many blow by layups. Where have I heard that before?
There is absolutely no way in this world he signed not 1, not 2, but THREE 5-star players, got Uzan to pull out of the NBA draft and found money to keep Sharp and Tugler without an abundance of money. Kelvin is one of my favorite X's and O's coaches in basketball, but he is the biggest Poor Me exaggerating coach I've also ever seen.

I hope Williams takes his lunch money next week. That would be awesome to see our flier point guard blow by him about five or six times for layups.

Where was Uzan going in mocks last year? Did he have much chance of cracking the first round?
No. He was 2nd round projected at best. But it was reported even if he didn't get drafted he was going European or seeking the best college deal because family needed the money. Matt Norlander and Gary Parrish of CBS Sports and Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 all reported near the end of the draft withdrawal period that his agent was shopping him to everyone in case he came out of the draft. Then suddenly he had a passion for returning to UH. Yeah right. For Kelvin to pretend he has no budget is outright disingenuous.
I think those are the two best chances. Don't see us winning in Ames or Houston and Arizona is too good defensively regardless if it's in Waco.
I don't believe this crap for a second Houston has some big boosters shelling out of basketball in particular.

I think Gundy was actually telling the truth. Sampson is just straight up lying haha. That Houston NIL fund is EASILY top 15 in the country
He's exaggerating but some truth here. He's fishing for credit. For preaching toughness, Sampson has always been a whiner. Many of their guys could get a little more by entering the market but don't. Credit to him for that. We've debated the reasons for awhile.
That said outside of bball (which is still probably grazing the top 15), the rest of their nil isn't good. They go all in on mbb. He's not lying about their athletic department having one of the weaker budgets in P4.
They have coaches who are great at getting players to be loyal beyond straight money. Best department (fb, mbb) right now at developing a unique emotional tie with their guys
