Some major programs are gonna be left with severely undertalented rosters when the music stops and there are no more top seats to take.

Adriacus and Craw are exactly right. Nunn straight up wasn't a good defender at this level. This site told us he was but he wasn't.. his Vcu accolades didn't translate.

He had solid straight line speed and jumping ability but agility and awareness just weren't there. The footwork and lateral movement weren't good.

I like Nunn and think he's a decent 8th man. I put it on the staff to have him playing such heavy minutes. He did have a solid second half of big 12 play his first year.. and I believe he played hard.

There's some rumors swirling around about Dylan Mingo potentially having to redshirt his freshman year based on a new injury, haven't really looked into the validity of it but it's out there

The older bro is a good pick up. Second year is typically when guys see a ton of growth. If Drew can fix his shot and stay healthy he'll be very good.

Don't love paying to stash a guy but there would be a ton of growth with a redshirt year for such a highly regarded prospect (younger bro). Now pick up a talented wing with multiple years and back in business.

If the program retains everyone through 27/28', that year could be the one. Guessing Drew is trying to build up for that run.

Iowa State lost in the s16. They did not have a shot against the likes of Duke/UConn/Michigan/Arizona/Illinois/etc.

If Baylor is working with a budget of anything less than 12 million, then we aren't going to be capable of playing with the big dogs. 2mil is an extremely reasonable amount to spend on a 5-star freshman, even if it is a matter of having to wait to see him for a year

Taking a gambit on a possible injury redshirt situation is nothing new for us, i.e.., Bodo Bodo, Soyoye, Perez, et. al.
We have to be sure we have enough to put on the floor in 26-27, as we have to take care of next season, first and foremost.

Pretty sure bodo bodo and Perez were both injured after they signed with us and transferred here, so those were not calculated risks. Not sure about soyo injury.

I don't think it's some outlandish take to say that Iowa State wasn't a competitor for the title, they would have needed a lot of things to go their way. They were a very good team just not a title contender. I'm not sure how I was "debunked." I obviously exaggerated a bit with the 15-20 price tag, but that's where Michigan was this past year so that was the number I used

Honestly, if $12m is a high NIL budget and $20m is a top NIL budget, paying $2m to a player that won't play is kinda sorta crazy talk.

I'm not angry. Your comment was easily debunked. Your words "every competitive roster is in the 15-20 million range" I easily proved that false. You followed up by moving the goalposts to title contenders. Which could also be debunked because I seriously doubt UConn has a 15 million $$ roster.
The point is you can win/be competitive as you put it without a huge NIL slush fund and that's been proven

Bottom line holds true. You can be competitive and win at a line level without having a 15-20 million $$ roster and there's ton of examples of that this year alone. Sure, you may need to spend 20 million to win a narty. But that's not even close to your orginal statement.
