I was listening to a podcast with JJ Reddick and Karl Anthony Townes. Townes was complaining (jokingly) that every player in the league tries to exaggerate their height on the roster except Durant. He said, "he's listed at 6-9 but he's closer to 7-0".

This appears to be evidence to support that. Bill Walton was listed at 6-11 to 7-0 when he played.

I've stood next to KD. I'm 6'5. He's taller than 6'9, he is in fact about 7'. In shoes of course.

6'11"
Standing around his teammates gives it away.

Doesn't matter; he was still effectively defended by 6'1" Curtis Jerrells.

Post is totally irrelevant. Start basis for comparison that players may inflate their height (Bill Walton for example) and add the fact that Bill is a senior citizen 65+ that may be in the shrinking stage of life. Picture proves nothing.

"Effectively defended" is a generous description. While he only shot 37.9 percent in three matchups with us that year, he did average 27.6 points and almost 13 free-throw attempts per game -- all wins.

1. He averaged shooting 48% for the season, so Jerrells affected him.
2. We were one year removed from the probation year, so we weren't quite good enough...yet.
3. The 3 wins were by 5, 1 and 5. We had an 18 pt lead in the conference tournament until Higgins put on a performance against us like he did yesterday against WV. Don't remember the exact number but KD had 20+ FTs.
4. Like subsequent Naismith Player of the Year Dougie McBuckets, he led UT all the way to a second round blowout loss in the NCAAs.
