That figure is all the more impressive because Drew's first couple of seasons shouldn't even count in the tabulation.

Fyi, when they hired Drew (like Bliss), they believed he could win conference championships. They wouldn't have hired him had they known that winning a conference championship would not happen. I believe they hire Baylor coaches believing they could win conference. They do at other schools in the league.

But, but he needs to go. Conference championships are all that matters.

Did Baylor hire Drew not to win conference?

Have to say Drew has done a great job here, and really he's turned the HC job here from something nobody would touch with a 10 foot pole, really to quite an attractive job. Other mess at Baylor is probably offputting to most prospective coaches, but once Drew leaves (probably retires), he will have given us a great shot at a good coach going forward.

For sure, that stat is impressive. Hope to win even more going forward!

I don't think this job is nearly as attractive as you think it is. You're playing third fiddle to football and women's basketball in most cases and playing conference games in front of 4,000 fans. Neither are attractive to most big-time men's basketball coaches.

We'd be able to offer an up-and-coming mid-major coach a competitive salary and an opportunity in a power league. But those things don't separate us from other Power 5 jobs in the positive the way the negatives mentioned above do in the opposite direction.

We're extremely lucky to have Scott Drew for as long as we have. And it's very unlikely that our next coach -- whoever that is whenever it comes -- will view Baylor as a destination job as Drew seems to have done to our great fortune.

You keep posting this. When they hired Drew, they just wanted someone with a real resume to take the job. Drew has vastly exceeded any existing or reasonable expectations for that hire.

Yeah, Drew actually wanted the job which was unique

We've been lucky overall.

But the program has felt stagnant the last couple of years.

No, they hired him to win championships. They wanted a winner and they had previously hired Bliss to win conference.
Drew gets paid $2.8 million. $200k less than Gregg Marshall. Texas Tech won conference after years in the dumpster.

Wanted a resume? Drew had very little resume. Valpo was never a Power.
