I'm surprised there's not a thread on this as there are multiple ones on the premium board. The 11-week series debuted today.

The first episode lasts 17 minutes and is split evenly between the men and women. I read that each player gets paid $8,500 in NIL for participating in this series.

I love watching behind the scenes footage like Coach and the team in practice and in other settings. They also spend a couple minutes on NaLyssa painting and FaceTiming with her parents.

Presumably ESPN/Disney since they are paying to use the players in their streaming content.

Yes, ESPN pays similar to a movie production company paying actors.

I have to say I think this is exactly the sort of thing NIL should be for, and I think it is only fair and right for players to be compensated for something like this. There are counterexamples out there which are transparently just boosters paying players. I hope the former will continue to be encouraged, and that the NCAA finds a way to crack down on the latter over time.

The mbb players are confirmed to be getting 8500 each. There hasn't been any info released about what the wbb players are each getting.

True, but can you imagine the uproar if not equal in this case? ESPN would get roasted.

What an irony -- the network that was hell bent on burning Baylor down is now paying our athletes and providing us positive publicity. Priceless.

That's why I think it is safe to assume the women got paid the same $8,500 each which is very nice spending money.
