I may have missed it so I won't be too critical, but did she ever make a statement to the Baylor fans when she left (then, not now) how she appreciated them and told them why she felt she needed to leave.

Hopefully not…that would be embarrassing. It would also show a complete lack of basketball knowledge given that LSU is one team we are closely competing against for seeding.

She'll have a couple dozen family members there. She never sold her home, she is in Waco more often than many people realize. Her comments to the press made it sound like there would be a couple hundred, which is highly unlikely, even for a weekend game not on Super Bowl Sunday.

Just got a report from someone at the game; they told me there are "about 50" Baylor fans there supporting Mulkey.

I was as big a Mulkey fan as you could find, but I am not rooting for LSU today. At first, I thought I would root for LSU this season (and Baylor too of course), but I just can't bring myself to do it. I cannot believe there actually are fans who are not attending Baylor games because Mulkey isn't the coach anymore. I hope many of those fans come back into the fold over the years. If you are a fan of Mulkey and only Mulkey, then fine -- that is your right. I however am first and foremast a Baylor fan. As I began to slowly come to terms with Mulkey leaving and get some closure, I have felt a weight lifted from my shoulders. She should still be coach at Baylor, but she's not. She chose to leave (still not sure of all the details regarding why she wasn't happy) and she is now coach at LSU. I wish her luck personally. I will not cheer for LSU. Today I am cheering for Aggie. Sicem!

This is a good point.

This is pretty much where I have landed after having several months to go through the emotion of it all.

The only place we really differ is that I am not for Aggie. I honestly don't care who wins the game.

Edit: I guess for seating I should hope that LSU loses---however, still can't seem to "cheer" for Aggie.

It happened. Kim took photos with all the Baylor fans that came to the game; i've seen one of the photos.

I was at the game. There were a lot of Baylor fans. It was good to visit with her.

CKM definitely had some loyal supporters in the house for today's game (and far more than 2).

I don't post much these days -- time is devoted to parenting lots of young adults and teenagers, but I read the boards daily. When our kids were smaller, we drove up from Austin all the time for Lady Bears games. If any of you were at the UConn game in San Antonio last year, I was the guy with the megaphone in the back who started the "BAYLOR!..........BEARS!" chant. I was on the third row in Denver at the NC making so much noise Muffett had a hard time communicating. I loved following the team year after year and showed up.

No matter what the reasons, Kim LEFT Baylor and seems to have played the victim. I don't know all the ins and outs at all. I don't want to. But when someone suggests rooting for LSU, I am reminded of Kim's speech when she was asked if she would keep playing TAMU after they left the conference. She compared it to divorce and a request for continuing sleeping together. And then she said,"THE ANSWER IS NO!"

Thankful for what she did here. Fan of hers. Wish her success.

Maybe I have just missed the negative stuff from Kim, but every statement by her that I have read concerning Baylor has been very positive. Nothing positive or negative about Mack. Now she may have said things privately to people but that is not the same.
Full disclosure. Kim is a friend, I want her to succeed. That said, I am a Baylor fan and fully support Nikki. I told Kim that I am a Baylor fan and will always root for Baylor first. Her reply was that I should and that she loves Baylor and the fans that supported her.

She loves the fans that supported her but she left them high and dry! She had a huge fan base in Waco that supported her in large numbers. Many here feel that Livingstone and Rhoades didn't do enough to keep Mulk here. Why are these same people not upset that Mulk voluntarily left them after all of their dedication to her?

i think that it is more so that they have not seemed welcoming to the new staff and new system they wanted her to fail so bad so KM would look so much better and it is sad

Look up in the rafters! They are filled with Kim's dedication to Baylor and Baylor WBB. If she didn't earn your admiration and respect with 20+ years of excellence, that says more about you as does your trying to spread hate for a Baylor Legend.

It was painful to lose her, but she earned the right to make the choice that was right for her. She gave my university enough for me.

If you've been a Baylor fan for as long as I have, you know this kind of team sports dominance isn't the norm at Baylor. It is once in a lifetime, at least my lifetime, and I'm glad I got to see it. Hopefully, in my lifetime, I'll get to see her properly honored at Baylor for her amazing contributions when she does finally retire.

So sure, it is easy to wish her well. It is absolutely amazing what she has done at LSU in only one year. I'll try to catch their games when they don't conflict with Baylor.

Now, let's learn from a fraction of what she brought to WBB and keep the winning tradition alive. I'm on record for how much we should honor and respect any team sports coach if they can achieve half of Kim's results.

One year at a time, let's support MBB and WBB to this year's conference championship! Sic'em!

There is no question someone can be a Baylor fan and a CKM fan. But there will be a limited number of times where that crosses paths, and yesterday was one of those times. A&M has no chance of making the NCAA tournament, outside of winning the SEC tourney. LSU has been very close to Baylor in the NCAA reveals. We (Baylor) are battling them for seeding. An LSU loss would have helped Baylor. That is factual. Those who drove down to College Station to root for LSU put CKM in front of Baylor. That was their right of course. They might not have even thought through all of the ramifications ahead of time. But there should be no misunderstanding the choice that was made.

I'm sorry Lynne but you can be a Baylor fan and mulkey fan! I'm a proud alumni of Baylor but I also am a fan of mulkey! Sure when LSU plays Baylor I'll support Baylor but don't you dare call people who support mulkey not true Baylor fans.
