Probably so. We don't know if that will produce the results that will satisfy the powers that be in Austin. If they are true to form, it won't.

Personally, I'd like them to be competitive. It makes the conference look good and, more importantly, keeps the Lady Bears on their toes. I love that Baylor owns the conference in WBB but I do not like the fact that few of the other teams are ranked in a season, much less make regular runs through the NCAA tournament. At least Texas is still in it now. Maybe they will even make it to the Final Four. I wouldn't mind them making it to the championship game, so long as Baylor beats them (assuming we get that far).

Yes, he may very well. But in their minds they are #1 already & if he doesn't achieve that consistently, he will probably be gone within a few years.

That's what I mean by the Texas culture.
