BREAKING: Illinois transfer forward Erika Porter commits to Baylor
WACO, Texas – Erika Porter a transfer forward from the University of Illinois, gave her commitment to the Nicki Collen and the Baylor women’s basketball program on Thursday.
The talented 6-foot-3 forward from West Windsor, NJ, averaged 4.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 13.0 minutes per game as a Sophomore in 2021-22. She shot 52.2% from the field and 57.4% from the free throw line last year, while also averaging 1.9 fouls per game over her 23 games. Porter had a standout performance against Wisconsin in early March, registering career-highs in points (15) and minutes (34).
As a Freshman, Porter played in 17 games with averages of 2.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks in 8.2 minutes per game. Her shooting splits that year were 52.4% from the field and 73.7% from the charity stripe with a rather limited sample size.
At Notre Dame High School (N.J.), she was a 1,000 point scorer and grabbed 792 rebounds in her career.
