Has anyone seen anything on Dre's eligibility? Here experience, rebounding and scoring would make a profound difference for this team. Fingers crossed!

This would be devastating. The freshmen have played well and they are a very large part of our future. They have grown a lot but I hoped that they could be brought along a little slower. I am confident they will prove themselves to by great players, but I hoped we would have Aijha and Dre available to take some of the pressure off them. That said I think they will rise to the occasion. I said that by tournament time they would be at another level. Now we need them to get there even sooner. In the long run they will benefit from being thrown into the Big 12 fire. Some freshmen can't take the heat but I think Buggs and Bella will make us even more proud that we are now.

Agree. Dre is still in practice videos as of today and last week Baylor women's Bball twitter Tweeted out it's only a matter of time so we will see. It would definitely be bad news but not devastating as we are not too far away from being a 1 loss team without her. I think it would cap our tournament expectations to around the sweet 16 if Dre never becomes available unless we were to get an unexpected great draw and that doesn't seem to happen too often to us. Still hoping but not too optimistic based on today's tweet.

Perhaps I have just not understood her issue very well, but it seems like her date to be eligible shouldn't be such a variable. Generally, the script for eligibility is you do A and then B and then C and then you are eligible to play.

Who or what is the variable that prevents there from being a precise date that the NCAA will allow her to play. What is holding this up?

There had been some chatter that it was Kentucky not signing off on whatever they are supposed to. If true, that appears vindictive on their part.

Maybe, the Kentuckly Coach needs put on blast. Sad to be so vindictive that you decided to hurt a player because they transferred.

I agree that without Dre the Sweet 16 would likely be our cap. If we can get Aijah back and 100%, that will help tremendously. We will need other players to step up. Team definitely needs our support this season

I hope we find out what is really going on with Dree's eligibility. Unless it is solely academic, not sure why she had to sit out a whole year. I am sure this is extremely disappointing for her.

I just can't imagine that under NCAA regulations, a prior school (Kentucky) would have the final say so over whether she is eligible to play for another school (Baylor). This should be a standard NCAA rule. Edwards has completed a semester at Baylor, her papers should be graded by now, and Baylor should know how many hours she got credit for and whether she is eligible to play now.

If she isn't going to be eligible, I wish Baylor would just say so, and we fans can quit drooling all over ourselves to get her back on the court.

That would make more sense. Why transfer again and risk more eligibility drama?

I was watching Florida vs Aggies and I guess Matharu is in the same boat as Dre since she transferred a couple of times.

I can't really tell much- I think she said- I will let her announce the situation it's her career.
She also mentioned living the craziness for 6 months.
I can't read that at all other than we know she won't be eligible for tcu.

It's all good. I have done the same! I think we are just wanting and searching for anything with high hopes! I know I am. I can't imagine not being eligible my senior year!

I'm hurting for Dre'. We all are. Dre' is such a solid, quality, caring individual, hard worker, super intelligent, mature beyond her years. She deserves so much more than we are able to give her right now, thanks to various rules and restrictions. Sad for her, sad for Nicki, sad for the team, sad for us fans.

I really wish we knew what is going on with Dre's eligibility. Someone said Aliyah Mathura at Florida who is also on 3rd transfer is also having eligibility issues. Yet there are some players who transferred 3 times and did not have to sit out. Alexis Morris was kicked off of Baylor team, went to Rutgers, went to A&M and is now at LSU and to my knowledge did not have to sit out. Just do not understand transfer rules…….

You only get one free transfer. After that you have to get a release from the school you are transferring from in order not to have to sit for a year. If they give it you are good, if they want to be vindictive and not give it, you sit.

I remember Morris sitting out at least one season before the transfer rules changed. That may be part of the differnce.

Didn't Dre sit out a year when she moved from Utah to Ky? Or was that because of the acl year?

Sounds to me like those responsible for eligibility compliance needs to be fired with cause and competent replacements be secured. No excuse for awarding scholarships to those who cannot or will not be eligible. If the problem is on the transfer university side withholding eligibility, then some recourse should be sought as needed or indicated.

It seems wrong that the previous school could make someone sit for more than 1 semester of the season.
