The more you win the easier it is to draw a crowd.

Most everyone here wants the Baylor program to be successful. Lots on here still think Mulkey is a phenomenal coach and speak up when her coaching ability gets trashed. Pulling for CNC and her program, and appreciating Mulkey for what she has done and is doing now aren't mutually exclusive-although sadly a few seem to spin it that a way.
This x 1000. I would change 1 thing though....we aren't appreciating what Mulkey is doing now but recognizing that it is winning and doing things at an elite level. Since its not for Baylor its frustrating.

Exactly ScottS. Again I have nothing against our current coach or team, just still upset we let a Champion get away again.

I will follow her progress at LSU with high interest checking the scoreboards when they play. Upcoming games at home against Tennessee are sold out and she has a road trip to USC who is absolutely killing everyone.

If people want to follow what Kim is doing at LSU that is fine. What I have huge problems with is people who post things after a Baylor loss such as " Things looking good in Baton Rouge ", "Kim is 19-0 and has # 1 recruiting class", etc. Why post this stuff on a Baylor board right after a loss??? The sole purpose is to start toxic arguments and it does every time.

As has been mentioned before, it is not a good look for parents and recruits to see this stuff…

Hi Bear 3,

Always appreciate your posts. And, I understand the point you made in your response to Scott.

Unfortunately, when we lose games that we have always won in the past, it becomes more difficult not to make immediate comparisons to the way things were before....hence the conflict.

But, I agree with you that CNC has not been given a proper opportunity to turn things in a more positive direction, and we should all show her and this team respect. I especially feel for SA---who was recruited by Mulkey since she was a Freshman in high school, and came here to be KM's point guard. She certainly didn't ask for this drama, and I am delighted that she has stayed.

Follow is the wrong word. I have watched zero minutes of LSU games this year. I look at top 25 rankings and look at recruiting rankings. That's it. I no more follow LSU than I follow say UConn or Oregon or Notre Dame.

Mulkey had to build her own fan base from scratch. CNC needs to put her big girl panties on and get to work. Living off the past isn't working out.

Not exactly; Sonja Hogg brought the program back from the dead, not Mulkey. There were good crowds for those late 90's teams that made the WNIT.

Largest crowds during Sonja Hogg era:

10057 (Penn St 1998 WNIT final)
7926 (Tech 1997)
7116 (LSU 1998 WNIT semis)
5482 (Tech 1998)
5103 (UT 1999)
4480 (UT 1998)
4377 (OKST 1998 WNIT 2nd round)
4192 (Tech 1999)
4133 (MissSt 1998 WNIT 1st round)
4033 ((UCSB 1999)

The 2 games in the 1999 WNIT drew 2717 and 2431 respectively.

The largest crowd in Hogg's final year was 2485 for Tech. The following year, 7 of the 8 conference games in Mulkey's first year drew more than 4200. Only the conference opener against OKST didn't.

If you would watch what she is doing you would know that she is doing exactly that.

Those are GREAT crowds considering Bowers teams were getting a few hundred at best when she took over. Like I said, it was Hogg that turned the program around and started getting the big crowds - not Mulkey.

And no, I'm not trying to bash Mulkey just stating FACTS.

Hi BaylorTaxman,
Appreciate your research very much !

Reason for high attendance:
Arkansas State
Dec 18, 2019
"With a sellout crowd of 10,284
that included an estimated 6,500 Waco area students
bused in for the annual "I'm Going to College Day" Wednesday matinee"

Note Juicy Landrum made 14 three-point shots during this game
