WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s basketball head coach Nicki Collen announced a third transfer to the program on Monday afternoon, adding guard Yaya Felder from Ohio University.

“We are ecstatic to be adding Yaya and her whole family to our Baylor family,” Collen said. “Yaya is an elite scorer from all three levels and does a great job of putting foul pressure on her opponents. She has a combination of strength and speed that is hard to stop. Yaya loves to play basketball and wants to show that at the highest level. She is a competitor in all she does, from the court to the classroom, and will represent Baylor exceptionally well.”

An all-conference performer in the Mid-American Conference, Felder tripled her scoring output after her rookie season, finishing the 2022-23 campaign at 22.0 points per contest and scoring a league-high 638 total points in the regular season.

The 5-8 guard reached double-figure scoring in all but three contests as a sophomore, turning in 20-plus points on 20 occasions. Of those outings, Felder eclipsed 30 points five times and turned in a 40-point performance at Central Michigan on Jan. 25.

A native of Hartford, Conn., Felder broke the Conrad High School record for points in a season and most 20-point games in a season. A two-time all-state selection, she also left Conrad as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,438 points and tied for third all-time with 88 3-pointers.
