While we're deleting this thread about a coach who is not at Baylor anymore, make sure to delete all of the threads found on page one of this forum which are also about women who are not at Baylor anymore: multiple threads about Britney Griner, Dallas Wing v. Phoenix Mercury, Odyssey Sims, Dijonai Carrington, Didi Richards, Moon Ursin, Caitlin Bickle, Kalani Brown, Jaden Owens, and multiple threads on Lauren Cox.
Oh grow up! You can't see the difference of players who have a finite amount of time to play? WhoIowaBear said:
No there isn't. You and several others just have this idiotic hate for Mulkey. And yes there's too many Mulkey threads on here.
IowaBear…please. I agree with your statement However, My post had nothing..NOTHING to do with the thread topic.IowaBear said:
Stupid is expecting there to not be threads about the coach who literally built Bu into a powerhouse. Without her doing so you aren't having discussions about players like Sims, BG, Cox, Didi etc because they're at different schools. I've said multiple times there's too many Mulkey threads but to expect them to disappear completely when the lady literally built BU WBB is asinine
If you're responding to me with this post, it's not really a subjective characterization to call Mulkey petty and spiteful. She was petty and spiteful before she left for LSU (see: La Tech animosity and wearing La Tech blue to thumb her nose at them with her first Natty).Bone Squad said:
I appreciate someone for once at least being honest and saying that the one and only issue is that they don't like Kim Mulkey, and therefore don't want to see any threads about Kim Mulkey. 99% of the time, it is instead couched in terms of "she isn't at Baylor anymore, so why is she being discussed on a Baylor website?" And when those posters won't apply the same logic to graduates, transfers, or even other former coaches, they demonstrate that their complaint, as stated, is mere subterfuge. So when anyone will actually come out and state their actual opinion and reasoning truthfully, I may still disagree, but at least I can respect them. So with all sincerity, thank you.
Addressing the real substance of the argument, there is obviously a subjective characterization of Mulkey's actions and others' at the heart of it, and there is a significant difference of opinion as to whether that characterization is accurate. In the absence of new evidence no one anticipates seeing soon, it's safe to say at this point that everyone has reached whatever conclusions they are going to reach, and we won't be changing each other's minds. So the question of who we can or cannot post about boils down to a question of who gets to decide who the "bad guys" are that must not be discussed. If one person's negative characterization of Mulkey puts her in the forbidden category, can someone else make a similar negative characterization of Britney Griner so that she is now off limits as well? I'm on the side of saying we should be able to all speak freely, and not let one or a few dictate to everyone else what is allowed to be discussed. It's requires virtually no effort to skip a thread that doesn't interest you.
If you want to say there's a difference, so be it. I say it's more complex than that, but not something we need to get into the weeds on. What I am calling out is the dishonesty of saying the reason not to talk about Mulkey is that she is no longer at Baylor, when we all know that is not the real reason.BUatbirth said:IowaBear…please. I simply was saying that the comparison that was made by Bone Squad of players versus a coach and deleting threads of the players too isn't the same…not a good comparison. That was all
Draw what conclusions you will. You're using the brain God gave you to draw conclusions based on facts, and I wouldn't tell you to do otherwise. Nonetheless, those are inherently subjective judgments you are making.Mitch Henessey said:If you're responding to me with this post, it's not really a subjective characterization to call Mulkey petty and spiteful. She was ours, so we put up with it, even embraced it. If you have that type of personality, perhaps the least destructive to society occupation for you to have is pro athlete or high level coach, so do your thing, CKM. But to act like people calling her petty are only using the last year as evidence is laughable.
Yes there is a difference. That's what I'm saying. That's all I'm saying.Bone Squad said:If you want to say there's a difference, so be it. I'm sure the comment was to try help in getting folks to quit bringing LSU crap onto this boardIowaBear said:

Former players is a whole different deal. The whole athletic department did one big cheer when she left. So it is entirely a different set of circumstances. I love hearing about former players etc but don't give a darn about what Ms ego centric narcissistic is doing at this point.
