Really pleased for the recognition of Program and for CNC! There was and is nothing easy about following up Kim and her level of success and what the unrealistic expectations are from our fan base! I just hope and pray we continue to perform and avoid the injury bug!

Fans' expectations based on the past come out of ignorance of how the landscape has changed in WBB because of the parity that now exists. We caught a real break in developing the program with the championship in 2005 when the competition was no where near where it is today and the elite players didn't have as many options in choosing a school that could get to a FF. Back then, only a few schools could expect to sniff a FF. Now, just look at all the different teams that have made it just over the last few years. Back then the types of teams you see today in the second round, you didn't see until the 2nd weekend or possibly even the E8. The landscape has just changed and become way more competitive. I'm not sure that 2005 championship occurs in today's environment given the same talent level we had back then.

The expectations at this point should just be the best you can be. Or in other words, forget about expectations and just support the program and enjoy the moment. If you do that and continue recruiting and winning at a high level, success will take care of itself.

You are so correct. We are not going to see teams dominate like Baylor, UConn and Tennessee did in previous years. How long has it been since UCONN won a championship ? Kim will do very well at LSU but she will not win SEC every year or be in Elite 8/ Final 4 every year. The transfer portal has changed the landscape and there are more very talented coaches in WBB and very talented players are going to multiple teams.

I think Nicki is an excellent coach and I fully believe she will bring a championship to Waco in the next few years. However fans who expect the previous level of success will be disappointed. This is not going to happen regardless of who the coach is, even Kim. The landscape of Wbb has totally changed and is much more competitive.
