The No. 21 Baylor Bears dispatched the Texas Tech Red Raiders 61-32 during today’s game. This game saw the Bears welcome back Brittney Griner whos jersey was retired today prior to tip-off.

The Bears were led in scoring by Sarah Andrews with 11 points and Darianna Littlepage-Buggs with 10. Off the boards BU was led by Aijha Blackwell with 11.

Baylor didn’t allow any Tech player to score in the double-figures, with their leading scorer recording nine points.

The Raiders turned the ball over 29 times compared to the Bears 19, BU converted the 29 turnovers into 29 points.

If the Bears only recorded their points scored in the paint, they still would have won by two today. Baylor doubled the assists put up by Tech, BU led the category 18-9.

BU out-rebounded the Raiders 42-26 with 10 Bears coming down with the ball at least once.

In her career Griner recorded 3,283 points, if Tech wanted to score that many they would have to replay this game 103 times. Griner had 1,305 career rebounds, Tech would need to play this game 51 times to reach that number.

We are 6th in league standings, if we go 3 - 1 in final 4 games we will be 11 - 7. Every team ahead of us already has 11 wins or more. Only way we move up is to sweep last 4 games including win on road at W.V. Tall task, no pun intended.

We are actually tied for fifth in the standings with ISU and KU at 8-6, but because of those losses to those teams right now we are the 7th seed for the tournament. That will be affected by this game with KU. We don't play ISU again.
