Think we will get to host? Do we need to do certain things in KC?
We don't know what seed the committee would have us at before today's game. I am assuming you are getting the 6 from Creme. He historically is wrong on a lot of things. I suspect if we were to sweep the tournament we might get it, but that's a tall order. But I do like our pairings as the 5th seed in the conference tournament. We wouldn't see UT until the final if we get that far.KIA said:
Moving from a six to four seeding-wise will be almost impossible. If we win tomorrow and make it to the final game, it will mean an 8 game winning streak. That could be enough ... if all of the 5's, and at least one of the 4's slip.
That's the key.....road. If we just barely don't make it and end up a 5 seed, we would still be playing a 4 seed in the second round. If we were a 4 seed we would be playing the 5 seed. No difference really in quality of team we play (5-4 or 4-5), but the road makes it much harder.....although we gave UConn as much as they wanted last year at their place.LTBear19 said:
The only way to lock ourselves into hosting would be to win the conference tournament - preferably knocking out Iowa State, OU, and Texas along the way.
Anything less than hoisting the trophy in Kansas City, and we're looking at a road trip.
Would love to see where the committee might have teams now. That usually is very different than the polls.ScottS said:
I see we are now 17th in the latest AP poll with KState at 16….
NCAA Net moved us up from 18 to 16. ESPN bracketology moved us up from 6 to 5 over the last week.blackie said:Would love to see where the committee might have teams now. That usually is very different than the polls.ScottS said:

I do think we can beat Gonzaga if the brackets posted were to be true. Not sure we can compete with UCLA's height, but do feel we'd have a chance there. I believe a ton of stuff is going to happen during the conference tournaments. Will be interesting to watch.Leonidas said:NCAA Net moved us up from 18 to 16. We are clearly trending in the right direction and appear to be on the bubble.
Of interest, on the post game radio show Sunday, they mentioned that if we do host, it might be at Foster after all, rather than Ferrell. I hope we get to find out.
And finally, for those like me hoping we avoid being sent to Baton Rouge, LSU is trending up to a 2 seed, so that further reduces the chances we would be sent there if we don't host.....thank goodness.
What does this even mean?Gametime said:
Killing it in 5th in the Big 12.
Hope they can use up in the tourney.
