Sorry, but you don't have all the info about the attendance at Washington. When Reese came to town, Washington moved to the larger venue but limited the sale of tickets to 10K, and it quickly sold out. There were a lot of people upset they couldn't buy tickets since they sold out the 10K tickets. People in that area said they would have sold out the venue without the limitations.
But when Clark came to town, Washington didn't restrict the sale of tickets to 10K like they did with Reese, they left the ticket sales wide open for Clark. Why did Washington do that? Reese is from that area and people there said the venue would have sold out at much higher numbers, just like when Clark's team arrived. All I'm saying is both Clark and Reese have helped to elevate WNBA, not just Clark. When Clark and Reese played, that venue sold out quickly.

You're really disputing Reese is a bigger draw than Clark? She's not the numbers show that. Look em up. And I don't for one second buy your 2nd paragraph. Clark is about 50 times the draw Reese is. There's literally zilch to suggest otherwise and I like Angel. Pull up the viewership numbers of CCs WNBA games and compare them to Reese's. Than pull up the attendance figures of both their games. You'll realize really quick your argument is silly.
I never said Reese hasn't played a part in the growth. But that part is tiny and I mean tiny compared to the role Clark has played.

No, I'm not disputing nor ever said Reese is the bigger draw. I was just giving you the actual info reported for both games at Washington. I actually like watching both Clark and Reese, especially when they play against each other. Don't really care who wins or loses, nor who has the bigger attendance, we just like watching them both play. Our family never used to watch Wnba, but started watching this year. I have also enjoyed watching several former Baylor players for the first time. It's my opinion that both players have helped put more eyes on the Wnba.

Kelsey Plum--whose college record was broken by Clark--took seven years to make the Olympic team. A large part of that was her W team. She was drafted by the San Antonio Stars, which lanquished until they moved to Las Vegas, got a new coach, and became one of the super teams. Who watched her play before they won the W championships?

Reese most DEFINITELY has brought in some viewership towards the WNBA. Its not close to Clarks, but she's definitely brought in new eyes.

Im not going to get into the break down of it, because it for sure involves race and certain types of people. Same for Clark.

That's my point. Look at the average attendance of games that don't include CC… compare those numbers to the games that do. Same goes for TV viewership. She is the reason for the new found interest in the WNBA whether anyone wants to admit that or not.
Funny how Iowan's think there wasn't women's basketball until CC showed up. Iowa will sink back to mediocrity now.

You know a lot of Iowans do ya?
I'm not an Iowa fan every poster on here knows that. Judging by your posting history you seem to have some weird hatred for Clark.

Directly before Clark, there was Megan Gustafson at Iowa. As I remember, Baylor soundly squashed her dreams of a Natty in the NCAA tourney in 2019. Not as prolific as Clark, she was still an outstanding player, named AP POY and Naismith POY in 2019. So nothing new about excellence at Iowa.

So Cameron Brink got injured, ACL i believe and will miss the Olympics. Are they going to add someone to take her spot? Is Caitlin Clark first on the list to get that spot?

This was discussed tonight for the 3 on 3 spot and Rebecca Lobo said that she does not qualify. She would had to have played in a qualifying tournament and she has not.

Iowabear you are often hot headed, shortsighted, and arrogant. You seem easily threatened by anyone who holds an opinion different than yours. You have an insatiable need to be right. You make no effort to see the insights others contribute to the conversation. And take offense and belittle the ideas of others who will not yield to your personal opinions. Obviously, the best minds in wbb chose Griner to be on the team once again. Perhaps you know more than Dawn S about how put together a wbb team. But, she does seem to win. Obviously you have some inner frustrations you release on fellow posters. I need a little space from your short fuse and will not dialogue for awhile if you are engaging. I wish you the best, I truly do, but you refuse to altar your demeaning nuisances.

Thank you Fred. Everyone here but one gets your point

Correct. There are certain tournaments that occur throughout the year that allow the US to be eligible for the Olympics. You have to participate in one of those to be selected. Searched but couldn't find a roster of potential replacements. But with Howard also now out, they will need to bring in two more, plus likely a reserve/alternative in the event of an injury during the games.
