It may also be blamed on not hitting their layups - i.e. missing the rectangle when open, lack of defense from key players - i.e. SA, and lack of defending the lanes to the basket.

In lots of businesses and sports you have to go out and sell your product. At one time this team had a ton of local support because the coach went out and hustled it up as well as raised money for her program so it could be succesful. This is year 4 and recruting is bad as well as bringing in little help thru the portal. On a poaitive note the AD and MBB coach really like her and as long as we arent in the bottom 3rd of the league she will keep her job.

Did our players celebrate last night?This has been a very different performance than the victory in Lawrence.To be fair,I think OSU is underrated.They have defeated Arkansas and Iowa State.

It is a very disappointing loss but it is also very early in season and first game with Matthau. . A lot of season left. Let's see what rest of season brings. No team in Big 12 will go undefeated.

I think we seem to lack the fundamentals. It leads to sloppy play and inconsistency.

Matharu can't fix their inability to guard a big. JMo said it right on the broadcast. TCU, etc. with bigs are going to be tough for us.

We played very differently than we did in Kansas. It was just a bad game for us. Vonleh got 2 fouls quickly and things went downhill from there. Season is NOT over as some on board will say.

Not finishing top 4 in the new B12 this year would be a massive failure by CNC. Obviously you have to factor injuries in. But if this team stays healthy there's no excuse to not finish top 4.

We took 74 shots, made 24. 32%. That obviously won't cut it. The team that hit the floor in Kansas was very likely a top four team in conference. The team that hit the floor today, unlikely.

They looked very sluggish today, way different than they did at Kansas. Have to wonder if it wouldn't have been better to have a road game after the break. I would think that would force you to have more focus and not be distracted. Was disappointed to hear the assistant coach's wedding was last night at midnight.

Vonleh seems to get easily in a funk.

Did anything happen to Kyla to cause her not to be used when Vonleh was out in the 2nd half? Seems her height could have helped inside.

This one was a real stinker. Try to figure out the problems and then flush it.

I do think OSU will turn out to be pretty good. There were just outside the top 25 in the last voting. They looked pretty good, but when your shots are falling a lot of teams look good, especially when the opposition can't hit even close in shots.

Looking forward to hearing the press conference. Coach is usually pretty candid. Next game should tell a lot about this team and how they respond.

The "0ld days" are not coming back regardless of who our coach is. Some just do not understand how portal and NIL has changed college sports. You are not going to have teams winning conference titles and national championships for decades like it used to be.

Nothing will change with head coach until we miss NCAA playoffs and then we give it a few years after that. Expectations are low, just enjoy the games, don't expect anything positive appreciate the super nice coach. Only 8 more months to football

Nikki is slowly taking this program to mediocrity. Losing at home by 23 to Oklahoma State is inexcusable. I've watched enough basketball in my lifetime to know that this team is poorly coached. As someone said earlier, we are lacking in fundamentals. These are taught by the coaching staff in practice. Calling it like I see it. We need to find a coach who can recruit again and show progress.

I talked to someone who is very connected in the women's basketball circles. She quietly said to me that Nikki's reputation is "someone who is very likable, but not a good game day coach".

Lack of discipline, lack of fundamentals, and lack of accountability. She is likable. And I think she would likely make a great assistant coach. But a great head coach she most certainly is not.

Enough about Mulkey - she was difficult to work with; lacked an attitude of gratitude, and dug her own grave. You can either support Baylor's athletic teams or be gone - like Mulkey.

I'll eat crow if she becomes a top coach in WBB, but I HIGHLY doubt it.

We hired a coach that wasn't even good in the WNBA lol. She wasn't the best choice, she was the cheapest.

If you're expecting a Drew-like come up from her, it ain't happening.


If Mack was going to take this route in WBB, we should've just got the Molly chick, and let her grow here.

She is much cheaper than our previous coach for sure. But l do think she is one of the highest paid coaches in the Big 12… likely second or third. Baylor's most recent Form 990 on file lists her total compensation at $1.1 million. This is for FYE 5.31.2023. It could have some nonrecurring stuff in it, I suppose.

Perhaps she was the cheapest choice of candidates we had apply for our specific position….that I definitely don't know. But I am skeptical that was the case.

I do hope it works out. The Sweet 16 run last year was fun. I thought we looked great at Kansas. Yesterday's game was really tough to watch. I don't recall getting thrashed like that at home. But plenty of opportunities ahead.

Nicki can coach but is having a hard time recruiting. Need players to win. We have not had a high recruit since her first year. That was when we were always in the top of the league.
