My friend, the bottom 8 teams in this conference are going to have to really pull some rabbits out of the hat to even qualify for the NIT. BU has played 6 teams so far that have a pulse (Indiana, Utah, UCLA, TCU, OSU, and Oregon). This is where the 5 losses came from. But I understand your statement was, "IF they play as well as they played today." It truly was an overall complete game. A beat-down to be honest, As I look at the last 8 games, I'd say 5 are VERY winnable and 2 of the 3 that should be tough are home games. Things could look pretty good by the end of the season, especially if they win the last game against TCU.

Agree. Let's keep going and see where we end up at the end of the season. Bella shooting form looked better today and maybe that had something to do with her improvement in her three-point shot. If she can stay relatively consistent from three point range, that would help our team so much. Aliyah also has a great shot when she is dialed in. We're going to need that when we play the best teams.

What does it matter what the bottom 8 do? They're bottom 8 for a reason.

Did you expect all 16 to make post season play? That's not how sports works.

OK thanks. I'll stop saying anything.

geewago is just saying that playing well against the bottom half of the league is what you're supposed to do. But it isn't an indicator that they'll automatically have success against superior teams playing the same way. Cincy is not good and was a good matchup for us. I think this was definitely a more complete game and if we keep playing like that, we do have a better chance against most teams.

FIFY.

If they could have hit the OPEN 3's they took against UCLA and TCU as they did yesterday, there is a good chance UCLA goes down and TCU is in 3rd place instead of us. There were more than enough open looks on 3s to beat both of those teams. The girls can shoot it, but until yesterday we clanked it more often than not and the percentage made in those games was below our average.

Playing like yesterday makes us better against everyone. And Cincinnati is not great, but they are not bad, either. KSU beat them by 17 at KSU and TCU beat them by 15 at TCU.

I don't think they will play like that the rest of the way, but no reason to take anything away from them yesterday. The only downsides were, as usual.......Vonleh couldn't stay on the court in the first quarter and free throw shooting is not good enough not to lose close games because of them.

How did I take away something away from them? By saying they took care of business (as they should have)? Like you said, you can't shoot better from 3 than FT and expect to win close games in tournaments. My apologies if you thought I was trying to tear them down.

That comment was the end of my sentence (not yours) where I said "I don't think they will play like that the rest of the way" (not statistically realistic). It wasn't a reflection on anything you said.

We always get the shot. We struggle to knock them down with frequency. I've always said we need a post player and an Emily Neeman on the perimeter. Once we have that, we're a Final Four caliber team. The issue is that we don't have that. Seeing Bella get out of her head and hit some big shots was a great sign. She has to be on for Baylor to play at the level they need to. Had Bella not been in her slum, and Baylor not fallen behind early, I do think we beat TCU. I feel TCU will be a quick exit from the tournament. They are a two-trick pony without much of a supporting cast. And the face that Prince is like 25 if just mind boggling.

To beat the top teams, I think we're going to have to shoot free throws like the men did against Kansas. Certainly do need to hit most of our wide open shots.

this was one of those games where we should have beat them and we did

there is not much we can really say beyond that

two of our next three games are against bottom dwellers and hopefully we take care of business in those games too

This is the correct take. Girls did exactly what they should have done. And I fully expect them to take care of the next 2 cupcakes leading up to the WV game. Handle business this week times 2 avoid the injury bug and get ready for WV

Basketball is about streaks and hot shooting. Any team can get hot and win. Better teams have better odds of getting hot more often. No team us hot every game. Timing is every thing..

Hopefully this gives us some momentum and it would be nice to get early leads so we can get some experience off the bench and rest the legs. It will be important down the stretch.
