she didn't play this past year but she is 6 ft 4 inches tall and would be a grad senior.

She and Kyla would make a great duo but don't think we have any chance of getting her.

All COVD exceptions expire this year. No more 5th year of eligibility.

This designation is used by anyone who has gotten their degree. In early NCAA times, a graduate transfer could transfer without sitting out a year because they looked at it as, they finished their degree and are switching up their institution for a school that offers the graduate program that the student athletes wishes to continue. It was only permisale if that degree was not available at their current institution. Baylor benefited from this because of their seminary program. Now, as we all know, the wheels have fallen off that wagon and its a free for all.

I think you might still actually see a few COVID stragglers next year because of injury complications. For instance, I think Cam Rising still has a year of eligibility (now taking bets on whether Cam might one day play on the same college football team as his first born son).

Madison Bartley round 2? Don't know anything about her or who we might be going after. POY in a minor conference sounds a lot like Madison.

You could just as easily say Yaya Round 2. With the mid-major players, it is always a roll of the dice to see if they were just beating up on patsies.

And I'm not suggesting that was the case with Bartley. I'm not sure we ever got to see her play healthy.

In general, I feel like guards have an easier transition form mid-majors than post players. The physicality is so much different from mi to major conferences.

Traditionally you have 5 years to play 4 years of athletic eligibility. With the COVID ruling it became 6 years to play 4 years of authentic eligibility. While I guess it is still "possible," it would be a very rare situation and the NCAA hasn't shown much hesitation to deny it because it would require that someone had a COVID year and a medical red shirt year. But we'll see. I just know ESPN was talking about it at the beginning of the year stating it was the final COVID eligible year. So something else would have to come into effect for ten to still be hanging around.

I was basing my comment on her position and height. And yes, we never got to see the real Madison that was the reason we recruited her, IMO.

I'd be surprised if she stays. Unless she loves Finely, she isn't being utilized much in their current offense. She would actually work well in CNC's based on the inside/outside attack and would require that people play honestly, but I think there are many programs that would benefit from her presence.

With the tournament (technically) starting tonight and a Big 12 team playing, we are going to find out over the next few days whether the conference has been under or over respected all season. Hopefully we put up a good fight in our games and surprise some people.

This just isn't accurate respectfully . Crooks isn't going to find a program where her usage is higher than it currently is. She's almost over used at times.
I mentioned it elsewhere that rumors are out in Ames that she may leave. Haven't heard it from an of my legit sources. But if she leaves i guarantee it won't be for a B12 program

Haven't heard any rumors she is unhappy or looking to leave. But if there's a possibility she does, it will probably be SEC or Big10 where she believes she can win a Natty.

Why do you think she would not go to Big 12 team ?
IowaBear

If she leaves it'll be NIl related. And from what I know about Audi she has too much respect for Bill to transfer within the conference. I personally think there's a better chance Addy Brown transfers than there is Audi does

An All American on a Last Four In team isn't utilizing her. I watched the game today. She is relied on, but plays aren't run for her. She is forced to create her own shot. She has an incredible soft touch and a great shot from about the 12-15. (Granted, she is not good from the free throw area.) And she has to post up for every possession. Not sure if I ever saw a designed play for her. So when I say she is underutilized, that is what I mean.

And if she does leave, she'd work within CNC's system, but I'm also not entirely sure she could keep up with the pace. And her versatility and ability to get in the air would likely be an issue. But pair her with an Emily Neeman consistent 3-point shooter and that would be dangerous!
IowaBear

She doesn't have the stamina to be moved around on the offensive end a lot. There's a reason she posts up. Her size is part of it. Her stamina is the other. If they moved her around more offensively she would play half the minutes her currently does.
She's a great player. But she does have some pretty substantial limits. She's also a brutal defender. Again in part due to her stamina.
Will see what happens when their season ends. But if she sticks around they should be much better next year. People forget they start 4 sophomores

What makes you say Addy Brown might be more likely to leave - NIL payday, style of play ?? She is good and would be a good addition in my opinion

During my undergrad years studying kinesiology I got to work with a few on the WBB staff . Became pretty good friends with a few. I worked main with the club sports and softball before I left for my own start up. That's what I was referencing when I mentioned I hadn't heard anything about Crooks leaving. Ask the buddies and they mentioned If one of the better plays left it would be Brown in their opinion.
I personally think Addy would fit better in Waco if she did leave. She's incredibly versatile. There's a lot of different things CNC could do with her.
