That ties into my opinion that I'm not convinced any team single team I. The B12 makes the S16. Of course that's all based on the thought that none of the B12 teams get a top 2 seed at NCAAs. I think a 3 is likely the highest a B12 team gets in the draw. That would put them against a 6 in the Rd of 32. A team like Tennessee is going to be on the 6 ish like. I don't like any B12 teams odds in that scenario. As always I love being wrong. And probably will be. But I think it's going to be a rough March for the conference

Neither Tech or TCU are any good. This league really is as bad as it gets. Don't think a single team gets to the S16 out of the b12 barring a really good draw or an upset

I agree Iowa, I think our conference is the weakest it has ever been by a great amount. I'm not sure there are any teams in our conference that could make the dance if they were in the SEC. There are 6-8 teams in the SEC that I think would beat anyone in our conference just about every time they would play.

Figured that would be your comeback.

I put the KSU score up to show that a .500 team in the Big XII could (and did) beat a ranked SEC squad - which shatters your argument that a Top 6 Team in the SEC would beat anyone in the Big XII on just about any given night.

As for our beat down against UT, I have my own thoughts about that.

Mainly, our coach can struggle with identifying her best lineups and with recognizing her team's greatest strengths and weaknesses (which once again reared its ugly head today against WVU).

If CNC had done a better job of coaching against the Horns - we should have been able to stay within at least 10 or 15 of them - if not better.

I mean, if South Dakota State could stay within 20 points of Texas (lost 70-51), then what was our excuse?

Truth be told - We should actually be 10-0 in conference - with a 2-game lead over the Frogs - and fighting for a 2-seed in The Dance.

But instead, we're tied with 'em, and having conversations about whether we're even going to host in the NCAA's.

We have Top 10 talent, but CNC doesn't always put her teams in the best situations to win, period.

A lineup with Scott, LPB, Bella, Deng, and Nelms would be one of the more formidable one's in the country, and could likely stay competitive against or beat most teams not named UCONN or South Carolina.

But how often do we see that lineup on the floor at the same time?

Hardly ever.

CNC's got legit weapons in her arsenal, but is constantly fighting these battles with butter knives.

A butter knife might be enough to take out the lower level teams like Arizona and UCF, but it ain't gonna get the job done against your better opponents.

If I could display a face palm, I would.

Nelms has the ball taken away from her by guards. Deng doesn't realize you can't take 3 steps and lately her offense has been disappointing. Her defense is usually a step slow and is not an elite dribbler or passer. Buggs and Bella can't stay on the court for fouls or getting crashed into. Scott can't run point the majority of the time and have much of any chance of getting her points. Where is the height in this group to battle the trees found on the best teams and still defend the outside shooters?

I love our team but there is a tremendous gap between the top 5 - maybe 7 or so in the country and everyone else. We nor anyone else in the XII are going to be "one of the more formidable one's in the country" regardless of however you rearrange the lineups. The overall talent levels are not close.

Neither Nelms nor Deng were out there during the majority of that 4th quarter when we were getting absolutely roasted.

In fact, we didn' t even have a big out there during the home stretch, which is crazy to understand, since we were outscored in the paint something like 36-8.

Also gave up 23 offensive boards to boot.

You can make excuses for CNC all you want, but the lineups she ran with for most of the game proved to be disastrous.

My post has nothing to do with CNC. You seem to be the one always obsessed with her. The point of discussion was the talent represented in your stated lineup and how they compare nationally.

I'm not the brightest bulb in the box in an area outside my professional career (and don't claim to be), but how can anyone put any credibility in your comments when you say that Scott, Buggs, Bella, Deng and Nelms would be one of the more formidable lineups in the country? Does anyone agree with that?

I have no dog in this discussion. And I certainly respect LTs opinion. But I agree with blackie here. That suggested lineup gets absolutely drilled by the top 5. That's not a knock on BU by any means. But the gap is rather large after the top 5 imo. I don't think that lineup stays within 20 of any of the top teams.
