Good court awareness. Clean passes, scrappy , and comfortable immediately.

Impressed with Brow. First game and played with confidence

I have been in the "show me" camp with Brow. Well, after seeing her yesterday, she has shown me and I'm now a fan. I thought her 5 minutes were very valuable in giving Jana some rest, providing great defense (CNC specifically commented on this), 2 assists with no turnovers, and a rebound.

I look forward to seeing more from her in the games to come.

Since this is Jana's last year, we'll need Brow comfortable for next season. I liked what I saw yesterday. Hoping Scott sticks in Waco--she will be wooed by NIL--she won't have to be back up PG if Ines activates. Hoping Scott and Deng have formed some loyalty with their former HC on the sidelines.

Of course, we will need replacements, but I would guess that with the departure of Bella and Buggs, more money will be freed up to keep Scott.

Yes, I suspect we will need to pay big NIL to keep Scott and she should be the priority. We also need to keep Ting. Can Ting even get NIL since she is international player?

Why didn't Brow play the last game. I thought she did a good job the previous game.

From various comments made by CNC, I would assume the following:

- Jana was playing well against ISU.

- ISU was not pressing either full court or in the half court. Thus, Jana not spending as much energy defeating the press.

- based on the defense we were playing, Jana was face guarding a perimeter player (good 3 pt shooter), who was basically hanging out on the 3pt line, which did not require her to spend as much energy on defense.

Bottom line, Jana was playing well and because of the dynamics involved on offense and defense was able to keep her energy up all 40 minutes without a break.

That is the way I read her comments as well.

Not directed at the poser of the question because I don't know if they heard the post game or not, but some people come on here with questions as to why something was done or not done. Often times CNC explains those situations in her post game comments.

CNC also mentioned these things at the Tip Off Club Luncheon. We also got to hear from Jana, Ella, and KJ. Also heard some interesting stats.

I won't share all but I will share the most interesting and surprising one for me. Our three losses were to teams with a combined record of 45-2. I absolutely refuse to be down on this team. Whatever you focus on you will become. I join TOC to support the team, I have season tickets and drive down from Dallas for the games, etc. That keeps me busy supporting the team rather than pooh poohing individual players. Basketball is a team sport and not everyone is going to have a top performing game or season. I go into every season believing we might win the conference, the Natty. Realistic, probably not, but absolutely true a few times. I love this team. This photo, after the ISU game, says it all. The player with a double double (20 reb) walking with the player who did an absolutely great job on defense. By the way, the team chose "We over me" as their theme for the year.

Great reminder about record and need to keep things in perspective. Thx! Really like this years theme. This team seems to really like playing together.

Ultimately, keeping Scott is likely to be more influenced by other program's NIL budget than Baylor's budget.
If Scott gets an offer from another school that exceeds Baylor's offer by $500,000 (simply an example), she would be crazy not to accept it.

The rumbling is that WBB outlier NIL spending is likely to plummet as it becomes clear that some gifts were one time donations and not permanent funding. The House settlement $ distribution is important, but it is almost a certainty that uneven distribution between CFB, MBB, WBB and other sports is likely to lead to Title IX litigation (and injunctions limiting distribution models). That scenario simply leads back to private funding and that well looks like it is drying up. Replacing $1,000,000 (example) in donations annually won't be easy for most top WBB programs (other than maybe Texas and Stanford).

Baylor needs to do everything it can to keep her, but if a program gets Silly Money and decides to shop Scott the ability of Baylor to match is clearly limited. Harsh reality but reality.

The interesting item might be kids being paid $400,000 this season, have a great year, and then get offered $250,000 for next year because the donations simply are not panning out.

"Silly Money"......another name for Texas Tech. I have no doubt they will come after her. They already gave a softball pitcher $1M.

The players seem to really like CNC and their teammates and her Auburn coach. But that probably only goes so far.
