Bad day to be the top seed in the B12's. Does Colorado break that skid

In previous meetings, ISU beat AZ State with 90+ points scored. Corn gals going down. Really rough game with bodies flying.

Molly Miller takes a team that was 10-22 and this season is 24-9, when she got to ASU the cupboard was bare. Little NIL, she will get a lot more next year. I think she's better than just OK as a Coach. Her College coach called her the " most competitive player she ever saw.or coached". She reminds me of another highly competitive coach.

She will get her chance to prove if she is better than OK in the next couple of years for sure.

I just don't see us beating anyone in this tournament if we can't hit open shots better than we have been doing. We can't have Scott start out 1-13 or whatever it was. Bella has shown she can get hot, but that has been few and far between. I understand poor shooting if you are smothered, but we haven't been able to hit the side of the barn with no one close. Colorado's height down low may also be a problem in this one.

Agree blackie. Have to have others step up offensively. Even if Scott is making shots she can't beat CU on her own. Scott will be the defensive focus and dare everyone else to make shots

Colorado is incredibly mid. Baylor wins. And I'll say it again. If Baylor cross the bed against this mid team that speaks volumes about CNC and her lack of coaching in these types of games.
As always if I'm wrong I'll come on here and eat crow. But there's not a single reason Baylor should lose today

Colorado hasnt been mid as of late, thry have beaten the top teams in league. We have to take care of ghe ball and make shots or its not gonna look good for us.

My particular concern here is not related to coaching. It is just a basketball concern that can hit any team. They just haven't been hitting open shots of late. I am not sure what any coach can do about that. You see it in baseball all the time. Even the best teams go through hitting slumps.

When in high school (a long time ago) we had the number 1 ranked 3A team in the state. 2 of the 5 all-state players that year were on our team. We had a coach that is now in the Texas coaches HOF and was as highly respected throughout Texas as any one. He was a legend. We went to bi-district and lost to a team we should have walked over. We couldn't hit anything. It happens. I just don't trust the shooters on this team anymore. It is plain and simple, nothing more than that.

I can find as many things as you where failures can be put on a coach. Players who throughout their careers have been good shooters go through a stretch where they can't hit anything. That is not on the coach.

We just barely beat Colorado at home. And that was not a "these types of games". I still think you overrate the talent level on this team as it exists today. It ain't the talent they showed in HS. It is the talent they show against D1 competition that matters.

So DLB, Bella, Scott gave showed no talent against D1 comp? What games are you watching? Baylor has plenty of talent to win in the sisters of the poor conference. Aside from TCU Baylor has the 2nd most talented roster in the B12. And TCus roster isn't that much better. Collen just isn't on the same level as Campbell. We're never going to agree on the talent. You think Baylor is devoid of talent. I think that's a load of ***** To each their own.
Baylor's going to win tonight. And if they lose it'll be because CNC makes zero adjustments and gets out coached yet again

I didn't say they didn't have talent. I said they don't display the talent to which you hype them based on their HS rankings. No, we won't ever agree on the talent. Talent will produce regardless of a coach. The coach is what makes the talent all pull in the same direction so that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. That is probably where someone like Campbell has the advantage. But when it comes to talent going through a stretch where they have poor shooting on shots you want them to take, that is on the player, not the coach.

You set yourself up pretty good with the last paragraph. Congrats. You win either way. If we win, you should be happy. If we lose you can look for every little thing, big, small or nothing to go after the coach. BTW how are you going to get rid of Collen? I would be happy to have the best coach possible and best results possible. How do we do that?

Is Scott not producing? DLB? Bella at times? Missing open shots that you keep alluding to happens by even the greatest. I watch LeBron miss an easy dunk the other night. Guess that means he's not talented… if we're using your logic.
Blackies logo c… it's all the players… not the lady getting paid millions to put her best roster together, strategize X,O's. Nope… CNC can do know wrong in ole Blackies eyes.
Where did I suggest we fire Collen? Quit putting words into my mouth you ****ing clown. I'm done having any discussion with you. Anytime you disagree you twist my words and make **** up that I have never once said. Congrats, you're the 1st person I've ever put on ignore

Okay. The last sentence does it. I thought you had more integrity than that. I have never once attacked a poster or called someone dismissive names on all the years I have been on this board, regardless of how much we disagreed on a topic. If you can't discuss the substance of the topic without attacking the poster who has a different opinion than you it ends any point of further discussion. There is no one on this entire site I would refer to as you just did, regardless of what they might have posted.

I'll save you some time. I just won't respond to you any longer. But you need to decide what you want. You either want to continue with Collen (accepting her as she is and avoid the same complaints ad infinitum) or not. She is not going to change the way she coaches, especially not because of anything any of us say. And unless she steps away on her own, she isn't going anywhere for some years.

Of course we never hear the real story, as to whether she was ever contacted, was contacted but wasn't interested, was never considered, or just didn't want to come to this part of the country. I think she had only been at Grand Canyon for a year, so it may have been felt that she just hadn't shown yet she would be successful at the D1 level and for that reason wasn't considered. Don't know.

I know that she was mentioned here a few times, but I suspect had she been hired, there would have been an unending number of calls that Baylor was just trying to go cheap. She may just have not wanted to follow a HOF coach when her career was really just getting started, especially with the depleted roster with which she would have had to take on. I know it took her a few years before she decided to leave Grand Canyon and I would think she would have had opportunities to do so before ASU if she felt ready to leave for bigger arenas. Perhaps we could get lucky and someone ask her about it some time down the road.

BYU's bubble has officially been popped. Double whammy for the B12 as they cost Utah a bid yesterday. This is of course according to Crme

WBB hires should solely be about finding the diamond and not about resume.
While in most jobs resume matters, in WBB it doesn't.

Auriemma hired at UConn after being a career assistant (3 years high school & 5 years college assistant).
Summitt hired straight out of college as a GA, head coach quits before season and she is elevated to HC.
Mulkey hired after 15 years as an assistant.

VanDerveer is closest to a resume hire. 2 years as an assistant, 2 years HC at Idaho, 5 as HC at OhioState, then Stanford.
McGraw 1 year HS, 2 years as assistant, 5 years HC at Lehigh.
Campbell at TCU spent 16 years as an assistant, 2 as HC at Sacramento State.

WBB simply isn't like MBB with a standard career path up the food chain.

Hoping Arizona State can make it a game in the second half. A triple overtime would be a perfect outcome, regardless of the winner.
