Prayers up for Kristy, but y'all are about to get a dose of Morris's true offensive side.

Yep, same for Juicy.

I hope so, but she has got to improve on herself picking up fouls.

I would like to see Kristy as a graduate assistant next year while getting that knee back in playing shape. If she has a condition that can be addressed sooner than that, so much the better, but scouts from the WNBA know that she can play in the league, and I can't imagine that she would not want to do that. Whether here or in Australia, I think that she would be an excellent coach, if that is what she would like to do. As others here have pointed out, she is outstanding at whatever she does, academically and athletically, and her personality lights up the room. She is a great advocate for Baylor and for women's basketball.

Our young players are far more mature than most, and certainly talented enough to move this team deep into the playoffs. Can they get hot at the right times and force teams to guard them on the perimeter. I believe that they can, and if so they will be a tough matchup for anyone. The conference tournament should provide them with an opportunity to fine tune the adjustments that Mulkey and her staff are even now in the process of installing. I am sure that other teams see them as vulnerable, but I think that they are about to find out that the drop off is not as great as they think. It will be an interesting challenge and it will tell us something about the tournament chances of this team in the weeks ahead.

Thank you setshot for these encouraging words. I feel better just reading them. Lauren Cox can serve as new leader/motivator, and Chou has to get back in swing to return to eight "healthy" players. Morris will find a new gear and Juicy already seems comfortable. Moon get ready, we are going to need you too!

Hoping for the best for Kristy.

But if it is not positive news, I would remind everyone: we have the best front court in the nation.DC's midrange game and offensive rebounding have made it impossible to concentrate on just Lauren and Kalani. I quote Setshot's predictably great analysis in conjunction with what I am saying for this reason: While asking our remaining back court to fill the hole Kristy might leave seems like a big task, the offensive firepower our bigs bring makes things considerably easier.

Why was Kristi's knee not iced when she came back out?

I was wondering the exact same thing.
It reminded me of Bo Jackson sitting on the sidelines after his hip injury.

Because Kristy has ice water in her veins. No need for a transdermal freezer.

I agree, but we went 40-0 because we had Brittney Griner AND Odyssey Sims.
You advance far in tournaments if you have great guard play. I think that's as true in the women's game as it always has been in the men's game. We have guards who are capable of great play, if they are able to rise to the challenge. But they haven't been there the way Kristy Wallace has. We have guards with the kind of athletic ability Kristy has, but none with that degree of experience.

Sometimes the young players don't feel the pressure that we think they do and just let it fly. I may be wrong but I think we are going to see some amazing things from Morris. I would prefer to see Morris at the point and go ahead and let her lead this team.

Yeah, I got smoked on the in game thread about not being able to go to a FF without KW. You expect Mulkey and the whole team to have the attitude of champions. That's who we are. Now reality is going to set in. Without the engine that makes the motor run, our chances of going to a FF just went from about 90% to maybe 40%. This team is that good. But the one thing KW brings to everything is really almost everything: game management, QB the offense, inspiration, great leader, great shooter. When a game comes down to a couple possessions she is the one who is guaranteed to make the shot or the assist and you have confidence that she can and will do it... not every time but almost. When you add the pressure like we had vs. Oregon St. two years ago when you know we were the better team but the nerves caught up with em and we laid an egg.

This is exactly the scenario without KW, because she is a senior and those moments she thrives on. Who else on this team can bring that? I'll probably get blasted for this post, but that is the reality when your whole team is decimated and thin. You absolutely had to have KW to make everybody else better and to have the energy in a close game to play through the pain and tiredness which is what the tourney will bring on.

In reality, and hindsight is always 20/20, don't you rest your team a bit cuz in the greater scheme of things that game last night meant nothing in terms of a chance at a FF. So they go undefeated in the big12. Would you rather have that or a FF appearance. That may be what CKM is thinking about this morning in spite of the BRING IT ON comments. Just sayin' it wasn't worth it although when I look back at the play there did seem to be some slippage and if there was moisture on the floor there is nothing you can do about it.

I;m like everybody else here in that I'm praying God can heal KW at least by the sweet sixteen. I think we get there without her. But a 3 or 4 seed will be a dogfight without her and I really think that with her we are almost a lock for a FF. So I'm gonna keep praying cuz it somehow works for me.
So Kim shoukd have sat Kalani, cox, Wallace and Cohen? Started juicy; Moon; Richards and Morris? 4 on 5. Vs. West Virginia, at home on senior night ?

Injuries can happen at any time. It is part of the game. We don't have enough players to sit the ones we can't afford to lose.

It's going to be rough. A devastating injury. Even if Baylor wins 3 this weekend and gets the 4th 1 seed, it'll be tough to beat the Louisville/Notre Dame loser to reach the Final Four. And even if that happens, UCONN will be waiting in the National Semifinal. Deja vu.

I don't think you are wrong about Morris. Morris will play the PG position and will do it well. Cox, Brown, and Cohen will lead the team.

YOU DONT THINK WE COULD HAVE WON 4 ON 5? WHAT LACK OF CONFIDENCE...
