WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s basketball head coach Kim Mulkey announced the addition of Chloe Jackson, a talented graduate transfer from LSU, to the 2018-19 Lady Bear roster on Tuesday afternoon.

Jackson, a 5-9 guard who will earn a business degree from LSU, has one year of eligibility remaining and will pursue an advanced degree in sport management at Baylor.

Jackson earned All-SEC Second Team and LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team recognition after starting all 29 games for LSU last season. She averaged a team-high 18.1 points per game, playing in a team-high 37.0 minutes per contest. Jackson, who led the Lady Tigers in scoring 16 times, also averaged 4.7 boards per game.

In 2016-17, Jackson was named LSWA Newcomer of the Year and to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team after starting 32 games for the Lady Tigers. She was second on the squad in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game, and fourth in rebounding, averaging 5.1 boards per contest. The Upper Marlboro, Md., native registered six 20-point performances and netted double figures 23 times.

Jackson sat out at LSU in 2015-16 to satisfy NCAA transfer rules after departing NC State following her freshman season in 2014-15.

Jackson attended Riverdale Baptist High School in Upper Marlboro, Md., where she was named Washington Post’s Girls Basketball Player of the Year and WBCA High School All-America honorable mention. She averaged 17.3 points per game and was ranked 19th at the guard position in the class of 2014 by ESPN HoopGurlz.

With the addition, Mulkey will have six newcomers on campus for next season. Jackson joins the top-ranked 2018 recruiting class of forward Caitlin Bickle, forward Aquira DeCosta, center Queen Egbo, guard Honesty Scott-Grayson and forward NaLyssa Smith. Baylor’s roster will be comprised of two seniors, three juniors, four sophomores and five freshmen in 2018-19.

This team is going to be absolutely stacked! And I mean that in the greatest way!

Guard play and depth was our weakness last year. We look stacked next year. I say it is a good chance we win the national championship.

GarlandBear84......you are correct, both the young ladies attended Riverdale Baptist High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. I'm sure their paths crossed at some point.

Trivia Question : At least three other sets of former Lady Bears attended the same High School? Two sets are easy, the other not so easy.

Hoping a 2020 recruit will increase the set at one school.

I don't know how to research this but I am 95% certain that for reasons unknown the Blackmon Sisters played for different high schools their senior years. I think one was a Garland School and the other Dallas ISD. Will research the best I can and eat crow if I am wrong.

I would like to say the Hayden sisters but I think they attended different High Schools...Bre's stay as a Lady Bear was very brief.

Nae Nae Hayden played for Dallas Lincoln, Breanna Hayden played for Dallas Madison.

The two Dallas High Schools are very close to each other and are near the State Fair of Texas.

I had guessed the three pairs mentioned above, but I'm stumped. Is the remaining pair related? Within the last ten years?

Susie Snider and Haylee Abbe both attended Robinson HS.

Pam Mann and Makenzie Robertson both attended Midway.

Albeit both pairs were separated by 35+ years.

Shanay Washington and Angela Tisdale both attended Dell Velle High School in Austin, Texas.

Some sharp posters here, thank you. I should have limited it to the Mulkey era 2000-2018.

CHLOE JACKSON

"Look for Baylor to have a monster season with Lady Bears of Baylor University, who already has a loaded squad ready to contend for a national title. Chloe Jackson will be a name discussed in player of the year categories if she continues to improve at the same rate that she has in the last few years. She's intelligent, she's beautiful oh yeah #AndSheBall"
