Ten Things: Elite 8 Victory

April 1, 2019

There were many great moments of the Lady Bears victory over Iowa to advance to the Final Four. Here are my ten:

  1. This game was physical inside and the Lady Bears never got flustered from the grabbing and pushing
  2. Lauren Cox is a straight killer and I wanted to make the call after I saw the pre-game press conference of her elevating her game to destroy mode
  3. Baylor’s defense is what drives the engine
  4. Cox and Brown took it personal and came out to dominate
  5. Doesn’t it feel great to win?
  6. Juicy Landrum running point to close out the game to give Chloe some rest
  7. Kim in that suit signaling the bright Florida sun and citrus
  8. Didi Richards backing up her game against USC
  9. Kim hugging Cox and Brown on the sideline and then Cox and Brown hugging
  10. The Fierce Five closing out the game
  11. Grayson getting his sunscreen ready to travel to Tampa

12: Thirty two point win over a top 10 team... Fatality!

13 holding Iowa to their lowest shooting percentage of the year. And even though Gustafson did get her 1000 points for the year, she did come up just short of having another Double-Double with the 23 points and nine rebounds. She had those nine rebounds in the first half and never got another one in the second half. My friends, that is ome outstanding defense.

Congratulations. That was a great game. I believe you have the best team, but the Final Four will be difficult to win. Best of luck there.

Hi, slime. We had a great trip to Baylor's campus. I got lost in your board shuffle or I would have told you earlier; BUBear helped me get on today.

One thing, Kim got the wrong shade of orange. Too bright.

14.) In the 4 NCAA Tournament wins leading up to the Women's Final Four, the Baylor Lady Bears averaged 93.75 points/game, and won each tournament game by an average margin of 38.5 points. Outstanding!

Thanks. Shout out to our visiting VolFan #WeBackPat. Gotta remember, there's a fine line between Vol's orange and Texas's burnt orange. She had to be sure she wasn't close to that.

Hi SmallVol1,
Good to see you! So glad you had a great trip. Our 94 year-old family member died of Alzheimer's during Thanksgiving week. You, Pat Summit & the Lady Vols faithful were in my prayers as we shared that experience of such a heart-wrenching disease. After the Final Four, I will dig into my PM mailbox. Let's catch up on the Lady Vols. Sincerely, slimecap aka Mary
P.S. Kudos to BUBear for the assist !

Sounds good. You're breaking my heart though; I thought Kim's suit was a homage done for Pat and (the real) UT.

Yes, Bear is a good guy. He's fighting a valiant fight against the thinking impaired who believe Kim can be hired away. : I love my university and my Ladys, but imo Kim is going nowhere until retirement. (But if you all want to send her this way........)

Joking aside, we appreciate Kim's attitude toward Pat. It has been mentioned on our board.

I'm sure that surpasses, through four games, what the Ladies did in our first two (of three!) championships.

Love the camaraderie apparent between two great fans of two great schools...Of course, our slimecap can't be beat!
