TCU did a Hack A Shaq on Lauren Cox. . . Who would've thunk it.

We played a lot of games early in the year without Lauren Cox and still managed to look pretty good. And this game we had Cox but we didn't have Smith and we looked totally out of sync almost the entire game. We were just obviously rattled and uncomfortable without N'lyssa Smith in the game. She's just so much more of an offensive presence than Lauren Cox is that it's very possible we need her more in the game than we need Lauren Cox. Course on the other hand Cox is the best defender in the country so there's that. If it weren't for her timely blocks this game could have been a disaster at the end.

Feeling extremely lucky to get out of this one alive. One of the worst games I've seen Baylor play as far as poor passing and panicky offense at times. Win and advance. We'll just have to be satisfied with it. Let's just hope that Smith is not out for any extended period of time or it's going to be a tough road to keep pulling out these type games like tonight...

Hopefully, this is one of those wakeup call games and Nalyssa's injury isn't too bad. I wouldn't be surprised if her injury affected the mood of the team.

Hats off to TCU for making this a competitive game. They are a better team than folks give them credit for.

Somebody(Cooper I think?) mentioned it's tougher shooting w Nike ball vs Wilson

Maybe that was part of it

Can you give a technical foul on the announcing crew for total and complete stupidity?

They kept calling Cooper "Richards" and were amazed that LC wasn't called for more fouls because "she was hacking and not going for the ball." They reminded me of Beavis and Butthead.

Well I guess we better start praying we get a Wilson ball for the the rest of the year. I guess that's why we missed nearly all our free throws too. /s. Lol

I'm having a hard time understanding why CKM didn't give her bench players an opportunity to spark something for the game. Starters were struggling-why not try something different? Pull in some players that weren't scouted heavily and could actually make some free throws.

Strange: TCU beat Texas by 2 points but lost to A&M by 2--and lost to Middle Tennessee by 12. MT does have wins over Auburn & Tulane. I don't know how good those teams are.

We watch most Lady bear games as we have for many years. With the staccato streaming, the announcers and our performance, this was one of the most difficult games to watch which i can remember and that includes several heartbreaking losses. Glad we survived. I don't expect our next game with them in Waco to be as close.
Kim's decision not to use a deeper bench was interesting.

Trinity Oliver was shooting 100% over the past two games - I believe - and playing good defense.

The Freshman all american needs some playing time.

She did. They turned the ball over before ever getting to shoot a free throw.

Minus 3 minutes - Cox, Copper, and Richards played the entire game. Often times they were less than effective.
Juicy seemed intent on giving the ball to TCU. Cox, while great on D and solid on the boards, was ineffective in the low post and woeful at the charity stripe.

Didi, minus 4 turn overs, had a good game: 8 boards, 8 dimes, 5 of 6 for 10 points.

Too bad Big Erin D. and Trinity Oliver didn't get 5 or 10 minutes.
Trinity, including tonight, hasn't missed a shot in three games.

Baylor played their usual great defense and shot Ok. They had too many turnovers and could not buy a free throw.
They also had way too many one pass and shot possessions.

Give Tcu credit. They are very athletic and match up
with us pretty well.

Baylor can be beat if cox and smith are not in the lineup

Did all of the scholarship heifers on the bench get 10 minutes playing time?

This is the most biased announcer I've ever heard. What an idiot.
According to them, Cox should be called for a foul every time she moves her arms. Makes me glad that we have John Morris at Baylor. John is always happy when Baylor does well, but he's a classy guy who can compliment the opponent as well. How many calls did they get wrong and complain that the Refs made a bad call? They were positively nauseating to listen to.

Mulkey said she remains impressed with TCU.

"They won some big games this year. They're hungry to get into the NCAA tournament," Mulkey said. "They have four or five seniors who have played together and that does matter. They play hard. They're undersized. They're pretty much all the same size, but they play extremely hard and they're having a good year."

TCU's post players were way too athletic and quick for Erin D to get any minutes. That would have been an absolute disaster.

Trinity? Maybe I can see her playing a few minutes with the foul trouble we had but you would have given up a lot on the defensive side. Plus TCU was creating a lot of turnovers. With Smith out and Queen fouling out, I imagine Kim elected to go with the best players on the team.

We have won 46 conference games in a row. Eventually we will have an off night and get beat. It happens to everyone. TCU is the second best team in the conference, was playing at home, and had every opportunity to win. And still lost. We probably need to enjoy winning more.

It crossed my mind to go for a faster group

When Egbo got in foul trouble(even before?) I'd maybe opted for Jordyn Oliver instead Bickle(maybe even over Egbo and starting?) as Bickle proved not quite fast enough yet. Bickle is close but not quite ready for this type game. I thought Bickle was a mistake in this game and maybe set her back

I favored Cox, Dede, Juicy and 2 ballhandlers in Jordyn and reliable Cooper. Needed more speed, couldn't stay up

Interesting how all the coaches who know better come out to post after a game where...we go on the road against a SR. dominated team that was at the time second in the league, lose our leading scorer as a result of a game time decision play less than our best and yet still come away with a 9 point win pulling away in the 4th quarter.

Our depth and ability to run our starters on average less than 30 minutes a game enabled us to tighten the rotation to 7 and play some girls significant minutes yet still play our best in the last 10 minutes of the game.

I think some of you all think coaching is just about managing a team game by game...at this level it is about managing a team for the whole season.

It was a brutal performance in some respects and I am sure Kim will have some points to coach up...but it was also a win that under the circumstances was pretty darn good and I am sure Kim was happy to get on the bus and get out of there with the win.

Uh, ok so should I now apologize?

I just thought Jordyn might have been a good option last nite but I'll think twice before mentioning next time for sure

Hard to say for Bickle who only played 5 minutes that game. CKM must think she is ready because she went to her off the bench for Queen as we needed size. One thing for sure, CKM had a very short leash that game (as she should). You knew TCU was going to come out and play hard.

For a gifted as Queen is offensively, she gets in her own way defensively and really needs to work on that footwork (like Cox did her first 2 years). If Queen can keep herself in the game (without fouling out) she could be special too. Very hard to stop on the offensive end as she has proven.

I think we knew this was a potential "trap" game and despite winning ugly (very ugly) we came away with the win. You have to have these close games that you pull out in the season because come tournament time, games will be tighter and having that experience of pulling out close ones when you are not at your best, can go a long way.
