No matter whether she redshirts or not, scholarship slots is not an issue.

Current Roster before addition:

3 Seniors [for scholarship purposes]: Richards, Ursin, Carrington
4 Juniors: Smith, Egbo, Bickle, T. Oliver
2 Sophomores: J. Oliver, Owens
2 Freshmen: Gusters, Andrews

Baylor WBB was only using 11 of 15 available slots. Now it is using 12.

Whether she redshirts and slots with Sophomores or doesn't redshirt and slots with Juniors it really doesn't matter. Only one 2021 recruit committed. After this season WBB will have 5 open slots. After following season WBB will have at least 10 open slots [11 if no redshirt].

There is simply no scenario [under these facts] where adding a player of this quality negatively impacts roster management.

Nice player. She shot 40% overall and 31% from three with a lot of attempts, which is usually the case when you're the best player on a bad team. She also turned the ball over at a very high rate. I think her shooting percentages should go up and her shot attempts go down being surrounded by better players. She'll also have to improve her decision making. Looking at her athleticism with good size and length she's probably a solid defender which is obviously something Mulkey likes.

She has a whole year to refine her position under Mulkey which none of the other grad transfers had! What a huge advantage and one she seems determined to take advantage of from her. She seems like a great culture fit from her interview. She is very athletic and has great bloodlines for being athletic so she should be able to defend well. Think how much better her D could be after a year with Kim. I agree with the poster above that her shooting percentages should improve surrounded with better players and less stress to be the scorer. We should be fine at PG this year, esp if JO2 gets her waiver approved. Having her for 2021 will be a boon when we lose Didi.and Moon. I I love her addition to the team and am excited to see how she will help our team!

She is not a great shooter at this point, but has a good foundation to build on in her redshirt year. I did not see a problem with her form, and as pointed out by Swim in his excellent post, she played on a poor team and was asked to do a lot, and that leads to trying to do too much, whether it is shooting or in ball handling. Her game can take an upswing in both areas with a year to work in the Mulkey system and play with and against the level of talent she has accumulated. Knowing how Mulkey values defense and consistent effort, I am sure that she received high value reports when she contacted people close to the basketball scene up north.

What I find impressive is her athleticism and strength. She draws contact and finishes her shot about as well as most guards you will see. She was second in the conference in free throws and for a guard that is a revealing statistic. She apparently did not settle for shooting from out on the floor, but attacked the basket as scorers who are not exceptional outside tend to do. I liked what I saw on the video provided, and to make All Conference on a team that lacked success speaks volumes for her competitiveness and level of talent.

Two years out, Mulkey will have a nice balance in terms of class differential with McDaniel, Owens, and Andrews. This allows her to be very selective in who she seriously recruits in the next two years because she has the PG slot covered.

Good shooters are good shooters whether they play on good teams or bad teams. She's never been a great shooter. However, there are a lot of other things to like such as her athleticism and drive to improve. The few times I saw her I was most impressed that she was a hustler, whether they were being blown out or not. She never appeared to take it easy at either end. Under Mulkey and staff's tutelage, I can see her skills developing and flourishing.

Personally, I hope she sits out. We don't have the front line or front line depth to win it all this year, but with another year of Smith and Egbo improving and hopefully Gusters starting to develop by her sophomore year along with a front line grad transfer, we have a really good shot next year.

Please list the teams that will have superior three post rotations to Baylor next year.

Yes, in the 2021 Tourney. Which teams will have better 3 post rotations?

Oregon State could be tough to shoot over with 6-9, 6-9, 6-7, 6-6, and 6-4

Low posts in Kim's scheme amounts to 40% (2 of 5) of the players on the court. Does it not seem logical that of 12 players should be 5 if not then 4? Only 2 of our posts have college experience. Offense does not concern me but the defensive side does and Gusters has question marks. Foul trouble concerns me with 2 exp. posts. We need an additional grad post.

Oregon State's:
- 6-9 Andrea Aquino has a heart condition and will likely never play.
- 6-7 Patricia Morris transferred to TCU.
- 6-6 Kennedy Brown will miss the season with a torn ACL.

South Carolina has some pretty good forwards/centers. Aliyah Boston did very well against us. Would have been different if we had Cox.

Smith and Egbo at the 4/5 should probably be as good as any frontcourt in the country.

And having bickle and Gusters back them up will be good!

I think we'll see a lot of Bickle subbing in as a stretch 4 this year.

I expect the offense to run a little differently too, since Smith and Egbo are more athletic than tall. I think we'll see a little more ball movement, and willingness to put up perimeter and mid-range shots since both posts can gobble up offensive rebounds.

Brown will miss this season as well as last season?

That's not good. Hate that about the heart condition.

Don't have to shoot over them when you are racing past them down the court for a quick layup.

Brown tore her ACL in February, had surgery in March. It will be another 2-3 months before anyone knows if she can play this year. Given the timing of the injury/surgery, think it is more likely than not that she redshirts this season. Given their roster numbers for this season, OSU isn't winning the Pac-12 or going deep in the Tourney.

Just read the bio and she played/started 23 games before the injury. Likely Jan/Feb before she feels right on it.
